Directions
New york state thruway to exit 16 rt 17 west. Rt 17 west to exit 104. Off the ramp continue straight onto rt 17B. Take rt 17b untill it turns into Newburgh Cochecton turnpike in Fosterdale. Take newburgh Cochecton turnpike to the end. At the end make sharp right hand turn onto route 97 north.(You will travel on rt 17B and the Newburgh turnpike for aproximatly 18 miles.) Take rt 97 north past the towns of Callicoon and then Hainkins. You will be on 97 north for about 12 miles when you will cross a tall bridge that runs paralell to the Delaware river and over the basket brook. As soon as you get over the bridge turn right onto county road 134. Take 134 1 and 1/2 miles and make your first right hand turn onto Basket road.(Over the small wooden bridge). Take Basket road 2 miles and turn left onto neer road. Take Neer road 1 and 1/2 miles to the lodge.

I drove 120 miles up to Catskill Pheasantry because they have the only Sporting Clays course that's open on Tuesdays (they're open 7 days a week!). I am very glad that I made the trip. The grounds are very nice with a resort-like feel. Many of the buildings are less than 2 years old. It's a beautiful place.
The sporting clays course was great! It is fully automated and well designed. All of the stations are enjoyable - some easy, some incredibly difficult. But all in all, it was definitely worth the drive.
One more thing. The staff is amazing. They are super friendly, helpful, and accomodating. They made me feel welcome. I will definitely be going back!

What a great group of employees at Catskill Pheasantry. Coffee and breakfast in the mornings, a really competitive sporting clays course, night shooting, excellent food, and the service is old school...out of this world! Manager Jeremy has a great deal of gun and sporting clays experience, resident caretaker Mick is a fabulous cook, and host! Horseback riding is also available, we had great fun at that too. They have some very nice Tennessee Walking Horses. Their sporting dogs are top of the line, with live hunts, a very clean lodge, the service and friendliness are 5 star. The facility and the people are top notch. Thanks guys!

This week I visited Catskill Pheasantry and Sporting Clays. It is amazing all they have going on. Catskill Pheasantry and Sporting Clays is so much more than a gun club, it's really a shooting resort. Great clays course, lighted 5-stand, thousands and thousands of pheasants, horseback riding, a main lodge that sleeps 22,and food. The Delaware River is just down the street for fishing, kyacking, tubing, etc. This is really a beautiful area. The clay course is excellent with unique twists you never see anywhere and I travel all over to different clubs. They have spent a fortune on the place with all new roads. The stands are creative and range from 10 foot platforms, stands over rocks, long walkways that extend out so your break point is 25' below you (awesome baby!) They have rabbit stations, and one station that the traps are 100 yards out coming at you as gentle floaters that hit the ground 10 feet in front of you (love those). They have a boat station that you stand in the boat in the water shooting. (fun fun fun) The owner Brian Foley and the Manager Rick and the crew roll out the red carpet for you. This club will soon be a favorite stop on the big tournament circuit. I am an NRA Instructor, Range Safety Officer and NSCA Certified Referee and Big Tournament Shooter. This is a great place.
