As of 12-9-08 the facility is longer open. The owner has pulled the plug. I spoke via phone with the caretaker (Beth) and stated that as of now there are no plans to reopen but to check back in the future to see if it's opened again.

Bummer! I've always enjoyed shooting there. This is also the location that I took my NSCA certification class.

I've shot the course with my grandpa Dave Piatt. When i was 11 years old i shot the woods course record for youth (31). I love to shoot up there and i encourage any other youth shooters to make their grandpa or uncle or whoever to bring them along. J.J is a good manager and they now serve food during lunch like hotdogs or soup. I can hardly wait to go back.

One of the very nicest facilities of it's kind, Scioto is always a nice place to visit. The woods clays course, originally designed by Jon Kruger, is changed often enough to keep it interesting. The field course is deceptive, appearing easy but offering challenges that are not immediately obvious. The new wetlands project recently completed by the US Army Corp of Engineers has attracted waterfowl to the area. The rolling fields of CRP are reminicent of the long gone halcyon days when Ohio was the pheasant hunting capitol of the USA.

The "A" frame clubhouse is pure class and the hunting is as good as it gets in a preserve setting. Treat yourself to an afternoon or weekend at Scioto River Hunt Club. You will be very happy that you did.

Very nice facility. Staff is very friendly & helpful, especially Linda & Gerry. I shot both sporting clays ranges. The wooded range was the better of the two. Great selection of shot & presentations. Skeet & trap also available.I will definately visit again.
