This place is great. It has a total of 18 stations. Each one is different and the course is beautiful. I am thinking of becoming a member!

A friend & I visited Selwood while we were in Talladega for the race. This is a first class facility with a very helpful & knowledgeable staff. I was very impressed with the course layout. They were having a fun shoot when I was there so the presentations where challenging but not impossible. I will visit them again the next time I'm in the area.

Absolutely fantastic staff and sporting clays course. My first time shooting on this type course and I had a blast - literally. I have been spreading the word about this great club and will probably join in the near future.

I really like Selwood. Nice folks and a clean facility. They have a person who drives around to make sure everything is ok. I enjoy the clay course and would tell friends that this is a good place to visit. I always look forward to shooting at Selwood and the quail hunts are great too.

I visited Selwood Saturday, Aug. 12, with my father who is a member. This was not only my first experience shooting sporting clays, but my first experience shooting a shotgun as well. I found Selwood to be a terrific facility. We traversed the course by golf cart, but on a cooler day, walking the course would be enjoyable. It seemed very well thought-out and proved to be quite challenging, though most enjoyable for this first-time-shooter. I would imagine the great variation in all 16 fields (I think all have two traps each), provides a fun challenge even to the most experienced shooter. Though I don't have any place or experience with which to compare my visit to Selwood, it must be one of the better clubs as I can't imagine another that could improve upon the great setting, friendly service, and fun that Selwood provided. I plan to return as soon as possible. Anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced, but good 20 gauge O/U in Birmingham?

My father-in-law and I visited on 12/28/05. We shot the sporting clays in the morning and hunted quail in the afternoon. We had a wonderful time! The Sporting Clays course was well thought out providing both challenging and intermediate targets. According to one of the staff, the course had just been changed the previous week so one can expect a different course with each visit. Lunch was provided in the lodge and it was excellent! I especially liked the brownies.

We hunted quail in the afternoon. The guide (Glenn) was excellent as was his dogs. He provided nice company, good instruction and a nice pace. There was threatening weather in the area and Glenn kept a close eye on it to ensure we were close to our vehicles once the weather did set in.

Selwood Farms also has a 5 Stand and Wobble trap (although we did not shoot either during our visit) and a lodge with overnight accomodations. We met a family that stayed the previous night and they had rave reviews about the accomodations and shooting.

Perhaps the best aspect of our stay was the experience we had with the entire staff of Selwood Farms. Everyone we met from the moment we drove up to the moment we left was friendly and helpful. This includes the staff who worked the sporting clays course checking on traps.

I would highly recommend this place for a wonderful sporting clays experience and/or quail hunt. And if you are looking for a nice place to stay, you may want to seriously consider this place!

This is a great place to shoot sporting clays. The course is great, as is the clubhouse. I really felt at home there, and I am sure that you will enjoy it as well. Reasonably priced.
