Brian Priest Pelham Alabama Visitor Once Reviewed 03/17/2011 | This is a great facility. The members and employees are friendly and helpful. You don't feel like a stranger because they treat you right.
The place is clean, close to B'ham metro area. You get some very helpful instruction without being overbearing. Got some great tips that really helped my shooting. I strongly recommend giving them a try if you haven't already. |
Allen Webb Birmingham, Al Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 12/02/2010 | What's not to love? Beautiful facility, clean and convenient to everything. Full time staff keeps equipment humming. Super friendly members, anxious to see you get started and succeed. Fair prices and adorable black labs to welcome you. I can't get enough of this place! Shotgun sports are great fun so come on out and try it. I promise you will feel welcome and want to visit again. Ask for Billy Pounds, the site manager, and he will take good care of you. |
Glenn Dawson Moody, Al Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 11/09/2009 | Very nice skeet and trap ranges with all equipment in good repair and working order. The staff there is courteous and friendly. They have lights for night shooting which is a unique experience. Trap shooting set up for activating on voice command for the times you may not have anyone to go with you to pull. Also you feel welcome with the other members if you want to join a group for skeet shooting. The lodge part of the office is large area and is set up with couches and a TV for relaxing if you so desire. Just beware, skeet shooting can be more addictive than golf. |
Wayne Sojourner Birmingham, Alabama Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 04/19/2009 | The Southern Skeet & Trap Club is a great facility to bring the family for a morning or afternoon of recreational target shooting. The grounds and club house facilities are second to none. You will be surprised at what you see. So the next time your sitting around the house admiring your new or old shotgun, pick it up and come on out to this great club located off John Rogers Drive in the Irondale area. You will be glad you did. There is always a member of the staff ready to assist you with the fundamentals of shooting and our manager is a world class shooter himself. |

Greg Patterson Bessemer, AL Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 11/11/2007 | This club took my 13 year old son under it's wings last year and have turned him into a 14 year old junior shooting 22's 23's and 24's (Still hasn't gotten that 25 yet). His self confidence has gone through the roof and this club has had a lot to do with that. Everyone there is great and the club is pristine. Come check it out.

Marsha Leeds, Al Visitor Once Reviewed 06/07/2007 | Great new hobby!! This was great fun. The facilities are simple and clean. Being a woman in a venue typically of interest to men, I was treated as an equal even though it was my first visit. The ladies room was very clean and that's a big plus!! I am thinking seriously about joining and getting some of my female friends to do the same. |
Chris Moore Hoover, Alabama Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 03/25/2007 | Southern Skeet and Trap is a wonderful facility, with reasonable fees. Only 100 gets you a full year membership, then 4 per round. The grounds are wonderfully kept, and usually there is an open range. If not, other members are typically happy to have you join them. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Nice clubhouse, with simple snack machines. Only disadvantage is there are some "crack" shooters as members, which makes it discouraging for "average joes" like me when I join up with them (I usually shoot in the mid-teens). But all in good fun, and I have never found other members anything but encouraging. A great experience for me and my son. |
