They upped their prices - the old price list on their web site is out of date. The prices that have posted in the clubhouse is out of date. They raised the prices so high that I cant afford to shoot there - might as well save up for the Dallas Gun Club and shoot with the rich folks. Man, they are driving the regulars off with those prices!

If you know what you are doing this is a fine range. If you need help forget it - the kids that work there spend most of their time driving around in golf carts and don't know how the games are played. I wanted to try Sporting Clay, the kid in the office didn't know how many stations there were (or what a station was). I muddled my way through the Sporting Clay course - had fun, just with I'd know there were 10 stations. The range is fine, be careful on the weekends -lots of first-timers... I asked one woman to stop pointing her (rented) shotgun at me and she pulled the trigger to show me it was not loaded. The range employee with her (another HS kid) never said a word to her. Not the range's fault, but I'll stick to weekdays from now on.

A wonderful shooting club with a great service attitude.

The targets are usually set by a world class sporting clay shooter, Scott Robertson. Although the targets can be challenging at times, they are not so difficult that the average shooter feels overmatched.

There are two 100 clay courses set up every day as well as a
'flurry' area with some great presentations for practice.

Everything a shotgun shooter could possible want and a staff that is dedicated to providing a great experience.

If you have the chance to stop and shoot this club, you should not pass up the opportunity.

Friendly staff and good facilities. Biggest plus is that IF you have a problem, they'll take care of it and make you feel like a real guest in their family-run environment. My favorite in the area...

Good sporting facility, the biggest pluses are the owner, Scott Robertson and the location. Scott is a well known sporting shooter and fan. So you do get some good targets (mostly on the Meadows course) and he holds some big events. The location is basically smack in the middle of the Dallas/Irving area. No need to drive out of town to shoot.

The minuses would be the cost of shooting there. Might be the most expensive range open to the public in North Texas. Golf cart rental I felt was also expensive, though I do understand they have to pay for all that expansion. Sometimes the staff isn't the friendliest. There are a lot of "Townies" around due to the fact they are so close to the city. Thankfully the townies stay mostly on the skeet/trap/practice ranges. Finally IMO the Woods sporting course is usually set very soft. So soft I've been bored by shooting it but they need to cater to the townies. For a stiffer challenge shoot the meadows course. I do wish they would flip flop that once in a while and put some hard stuff in the woods.

Awesome!!! I went to this range for the first time on Saturday and had a blast! This place is like an amusement park for the gun enthusiast. The sporting clays course offers different looks and challenges. The staff was friendly and helpful. I look forward to going back soon.

We have shot here several times and this place is what hooked me. My shooting buddy and I have met some very nice people out there. My experience with James is completely opposite from the one above. He explained everything to us and was nice to talk to. The people that monitor the range to make sure traps are working have always stopped and spoke. It is one of our favorite places to shoot and close. We are most likely going to shoot a league out there this season we were so impressed.

We were in Dallas over the holiday weekend and were looking for a place to shoot skeet. Having recently purchased a new 12 gauge I was excited at the opportunity. We called Elm Fork to get the hours of operation and went out the next day. Very nice facility and helpful staff. I certainly will go back and would recommend the facility without hesitation!

Elm Fork is a nice facility with 6 skeet, 2 clays courses, a couple of 5-stand, and 4 practice traps. Just about everything you need for whatever your game. I'm normally on skeet and during lulls the range has no problem with just working stations. The clay matches are good but total lack of skeet tourneys. Have to practice here, compete somewhere else. Price are reasonable but ammo is a bit golden.
Overall a good range. Well kept, friendly, and laid back.

I recently picked back up shooting with a girlfriend of mine and we love it at Elm Fork. I know, two chicks with guns is a scary visual for some - but not for anyone at Elm Fork. They are very knowledgeable and helpful - even to novices. I took a lesson last year and have been there multiple times the last few months. I especially like the sports courses - shooting from the back of the pick up is hilarious!

My wife and I were in Dallas over the weekend and I brought my gun so I could shoot at your range. At first glance, I was impressed with your facility but when I got inside and talked to James LaChance and explained to him that I had not shot their before and I asked him how everything worked. At first he looked at me like I was stupid. That was no big deal because I work in retail and I am used to that. I then told him I was interested in shooting either 5 stand or sporting. All he could say was OK. So then I had to ask questions instead of him telling me how everything worked. I asked if you had people to pull for sporting and he stated no you have to pull yourself. That was fine also but I had my wife and 2 year old with me and they could not pull for me. While leaving I overheard someone talking about setting the remotes on delay. If he would have explained all of that to me then I would have shot 100 rds of sporting instead of just 2 rounds of 5 stand. I understand that I am from out of town and it may be a while before I shoot their again but I expect to be treated decent while going in to any business to spend money.

Amazing! This place is great for anything you want to do. whether its sporting clays, trap, skeet, the gun range, and even a place to go watch and enjoy the sport. They even offer you golf carts to travel from each station.
