Ray Tozer Cincinnati, Ohio Visitor More than 10 visits Reviewed 08/24/2011 | I love Bandera, Skyline Ranch RV Park and Bandera gun Club. I like the friendly, helpful personnel even though JM rags on me (in fun). You can shoot just about any shooting event, buy guns and ammo, rent guns and get good advice from JM on shooting and Mary on good food. |
Tom & Cherry Householder Fair Oaks Ranch, TX Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 08/24/2011 | The Bandera Gun Club is one of the best treasures we have discovered since retiring to Texas from Yankee country 9 years ago. We joined the club immediately and last year upgraded our membership to Life. I have always been a shooter but my wife has really taken an interest since retiring. She wanted to learn to shoot skeet and everyone we have meet at the range has been willing to help her along. The range attracts people from all over the world. Starting with JM Clements (The "Boss"), all of the employees and "volunteers" are friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The "BGC" is our home away from home. |
Steve Bratton Bandera / Pflugerville, TX Member 2-5 Visits Reviewed 08/23/2011 | We have a weekend place in Bandera County...just joined the Club. Based on what I've seen elsewhere (the city), BGC is a great little range. Perfect size and demeanor for Bandera. J.M. and everyone else we've met have been very cordial. 5 stars from the Brattons! |
Allan Hobgood Charleston, SC Visitor More than 10 visits Reviewed 08/23/2011 | Every time I've been there for the last few years it rains.
But the facility and the people are great. |
David-Cherrie Hulsey Bandera, Tx Member I work there Reviewed 01/10/2011 | My Wife Cherrie and I have moved to Bandera Tx and we love it. The Bandera Gun Club is a great place to shoot Rifle Pistol Skeet or Trap.
The staff is friendly and always ready to help anyone. I even volunteer to work there a few days a week. The range is well maintained and easy to use. We always have a great time from .22 Benchrest Matches to Skeet Shooting. When in Bandera this is a must see and enjoy. |
Dan X. Reidy Kerrville Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 10/16/2010 | A good place for pistol shooters as well, they leave you alone as long as you are safe and don't act stupid. I like the joint! |
Jim Woolnough Kerrville, TX Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 04/19/2010 | This is a fine little club. Very informal, but with firm safety rules. My wife and I are Life members and I have shot here, usually twice a week, for the last four years. Show up wearing a smile and and you will be treated in a very friendly professional manner. Show up with your stuffed shirt on and the reaction may not be all you are hoping for, but it will be what you deserve. It is country Texas. |

Michael J. Shadden San Antonio, Texas Member 2-5 Visits Reviewed 09/09/2009 | I checked this Range out with a friend of mine that is a Life Member and like it so well that I too became a Life Member. The owner is a very great person, that has a great wealth of knowledge. I took my CHL class there and JM was a lot of fun in giving the class. The people that I have met there all seem very friendly and willing to help anyone with any questions. The range is well kept and is growing. I would and have tell anyone that this is the place to go and enjoy shooting of any form. |
Phillip G. Los Angeles, C.A. Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 07/12/2009 | I lived in Bandera for almost A year and visited the gun club alot. It's A great facility,(very laid back, family oriented, and relaxing). The owner and staff are very helpful with whatever you need; advice on guns and ammo, shooting tips and strategies along with things like scoping in a rifle. Out of all of the ranges and clubs I've been to this is definitely the best. |
Barry Beadles San Antonio Visitor More than 10 visits Reviewed 06/29/2009 | I have been a family member for several years and all my brothers have also joined. I also took the concealed handgun glass here and JM was a great instructor. Anyone who is considering taking this class should make an appointment to take it here at this gun range. I have brought many friends to the gun club to shoot and they too are impressed and they have been to several other gun ranges but enjoy this one the best. Great place to shoot the breeze and your guns as well. |
wichlep lakehills, tx Visitor Once Reviewed 05/16/2009 | Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Law enforcement friendly...I will be making many return trips in the future. |
JDBraddy San Antonio, Texas Visitor 2-5 Visits Reviewed 05/12/2009 | The facility is small, but well maintained, very friendly crowd, weekly shoots on Wednesday evenings much of the year. I've been several times now, and have yet to have a negative experience. It's twice the distance from where I live in San Antonio, than to two of the other facilities here in town, but their memberships are half the cost of those facilities. I intend to purchase one of their memberships on my next visit. |

Reviewed 04/02/2009 | I've been a shooter since I can remember and the Bandera gun club is the best facility i have ever seen. Not just because I work there. I have been to many other clubs and they are of no comparison. Dues are going up on June 1st to 75 for individual and 100 for family. Thanks for all of your support. Come on out and visit. GET ER DONE @ 3,4,5 |
Kent Herrick Kerrville, Texas Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 02/16/2009 | My family, close and extended, shoot there regularly, all types. Prices on guns, ammo, repairs and range use is reasonable and affordable. I liked it so much I became a Life Member. Plan to shoot there for a few more decades. |
Skip San Antonio TX Visitor 6-10 Visits Reviewed 01/25/2009 | Great place to shoot, not stuffy & expensive like the ranges in San Antonio!! Is well worth the drive!! |
Danny Styles Boerne, Tx Member 2-5 Visits Reviewed 10/29/2008 | What a great place to shoot with people that have the same love for the 2nd.
|
Earl Styles Boerne, TX Member 6-10 Visits Reviewed 10/21/2008 | I recently joined Bandera Gun Club with my Brother. We signed up for the "Family Membership” What a deal, as the membership price is inexpensive compared to other facilities. I just completed my CHL class on 10/20/08. Instructor Clements was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this club to anyone who is looking for a multi-purpose shooting range that encompasses TX hospitality. |
Amy Ostertag Allen, Texas Visitor 2-5 Visits Reviewed 11/13/2007 | Was there on 11/12/07 for renewal of Handgun License. Instructor Clements was very thorough and I would recommend people to take the class here. that is if they want to make the drive. It is totally worth it. I will continue to renew and bring more friends down as long as Gun Club is around. Thanks |
A Brown San Antonio Member 6-10 Visits Reviewed 09/11/2007 | This range is very friendly and we LOVE the open air of the place. The guys are always ready and willing to give advice when asked. I called and visited many of the other ranges in the area and we decided this was more to our liking. The yearly fee and then per visit fee is MUCH more reasonable then any of the other ranges. No it does not have all the bells and whistles of some of the other ranges but who cares-it's a friendly and safe place to go shoot up targets or clays. Well worth the drive north. |

Mike Towers Pipe Creek, Texas Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 11/28/2006 | I am a police officer and department firearms instructor. Safety is VERY important to me. I use the club to teach civilians rudiments of marksmanship and safety, and also concealed handgun license. I've been using the range more than ten years, and I think it's great! Women, kids, and "newbies" are always well-treated and welcome. |
Troy Adamietz Quihi, Texas Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 09/04/2006 | This is the greatest club that I have ever been to. A great, family friendly atmosphere, with a load of events year round. The registered shoots here draw major shooters from around the state and the team from the club is consistently placing at large shoots. This is the friendliest and welcoming club that I have been to and would recomend it to anyone from a beginner to a world champion. |
Stuart Pyburn Pipe Creek Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 04/30/2006 | Yes we are a small club in a small community but that is part of our charm. You won't find nicer people at any other club in Texas. If you want to know what the shooting sports are all about but your afraid of being embarrassed, this is the place you want to start. Everyone will be more than happy to help you get started. Stop by and see for yourself. You won't be sorry! |
Jack Smith Charlotte, NC Visitor Once Reviewed 02/06/2006 | The club is a little more than an hour north of San Antonio.
Pretty run down and looks like mostly locals........I called out there before the ride up and the owner said they had a registered shoot, so no shooting for me.
He asked me to come on up and check out the facility and watch some matches. So, I did. When I arrived went into the very, very small club house and told him I was the guy that called early. He acted like he did not recall out conversation! Not very friendly.
Place is pretty run down, lots of colorful characters hanging out.
Will not return......... |
