Reviewed 10/29/2008 | The Greenbrier's Sporting Clay Course is located at the Gun Club on Kate's Mountain. The course lay has been designed by Justin Jones and John Higgins of The British School of Shooting. The Sporting Clays course meanders across Kate's Mountain for almost one-half mile featuring a 10-station layout with 2 to 6 traps per shooting station. With the varying terrain on Kate's Mountain the opportunity to simulate many hunting situations including flushing Grouse, springing Teal and bolting Rabbits are available. Each station will have two shooting stands to provide a multitude of targets to be presented to the shooter. 25, 50 or 100 exciting and challenging targets for the novice as well as the expert are available. The Gun Club can provide all necessary shooting and safety equipment. You will be accompanied by one of our professional staff members at all times. The Sporting Clay course utilizes Beretta Sporting Clay shotguns in twelve and twenty gauges. The Gun Club was host to the first two annual West Virginia State Skeet Championships. It offers one skeet field and four trap ranges for year-round enjoyment. The fields have been expertly laid out on a large level tract and are constructed to National Skeet Shooting Association and Amateur Trapshooting Association specifications. |
