RICHARD DAVIS Carmichael, CA Visitor Once Reviewed 04/28/2008 | I visited the club Sunday, April 27, 2008. About 25 miles from my home in Carmichael (Sacramento County). It is located near a creek and has a large number of big trees (shade) and lots of elbow room between layouts. The there are nine American trap layouts that can be set up for Singles, Doubles, and Wobble Trap and I believe Double Wobble (a very difficult game). There are three skeet fields that can be set up for either American or International skeet, a sporting clays course, and my favourite, International Trap. Nice homesy clubhouse that has shotgun shells (even Fiocchi International trap shells) reloading components and coffee. I walked the layout and joined in conversation with a regular at International Trap trench and was given the opportunity to try a couple of targets with his Perazzi. I will be back with my gun next Sunday to shoot a few rounds!! At 25 buck a year, the dues are dirt cheap and you get a buck off a round and discounts on other stuff. If competition shotgun shooting is your thing, this is the place to go. |
Raymond Parker Lincoln, CA Visitor Once Reviewed 08/17/2007 | Went the first time this past weekend and we are hooked! Took my 14 year old and my 9 year old son's out to try the sporting clay course and we had a "blast".
We will soon be back and I see many weekends of enjoyment ahead. |
Aslam Malik Cameron Park Visitor More than 10 visits Reviewed 08/09/2007 | George and Jean are outstanding hosts. They have a great club. Their sporting clays course is very good with some very challenging shots. Being next to Coon Creek, you always see wildlife such as ducks, pheasants, doves and turkeys. Shooting at Coon Creek is a very relaxing experience and whole family can enjoy the outing. Shots are Coon creek mimic what you would encounter in the wild--good practice for the hunting season. We really enjoy going to Coon Creek.
They also have a world class trap range along with 5 stand and skeet.

Don Wyman Cameron Park Visitor More than 10 visits Reviewed 06/25/2006 | Very nice facility, old but maintained club house...great full hook ups for RV's all the facilities and fields advartised are well maintained and in working order. Last time I was there all the fields were voice activated. Expecially like the bunker trap field. George (The Owner) has put a lot of time, money, and effort into his facility and should be very proud of his accomplisments there. Several PITA State shoots have been conducted there so they have the capacity for large events.
Seems their open hours vary a little so it would be a good idea to call first. |

Stuart Rio Linda Visitor More than 10 visits Reviewed on or prior to 11/20/2005 | If you want a place to have fun with fully automated throwing machines you want to come here. It doesn't matter if you shoot skeet or trap it has it. This place is a whole lot of fun. I love it there the people there are friendly and you don't have to worry about anything. If you need a bag for holding your shells they got them to borrow. If you need shells because you forgot to bring them you can buy some shells right in the store. They got speakers at every station for you. I especially enjoy it because I get treated with respect. And you will too if you follow the simple rules. If you are looking for a fun place to get away from it than this is a place for you. If I had to rank this club/range on a scale 1-10 it would rank a 9.5. This is one fun place for the person who loves to shoot. It was one place that you want to visit. |
