Mark Sarasota, Florida Visitor Once Reviewed 07/14/2011 | Took group of five (my nieces and nephews) through an experience package with instructor Steve Beck. We were all novices, and he was very patient. Even members walking by were very supportive. The various stands offered great variety and nice views. A little remote, but would recommend this club to anyone. A great way to spend our 4th of July ! |
Joe San Francisco, CA Visitor Once Reviewed 10/19/2010 | Went there with a group of 12 or so friends. None of us were experienced clay shooters. We used one of the packages they had on their website and broke the group into three with each having an instructor. We had a lot of fun. The instructors did a great job of helping us with the basics of shooting. We all had lots of fun. I will definitely be going back. It was a very nice clean facility and since I live in the Bay Area, I plan to go there often. |
Jason Moore Santa Rosa, CA Visitor Once Reviewed 10/29/2008 | I just took a group of clients(mostly beginners) here to shoot sporting clays and it was an amazing experience. Our instructors were terrific (Ambrose, Coach, and Steve Beck). They made all of my clients feel comfortable and have a great time. There are some VERY challenging stations here. I liked station number 5 the best. One bird coming from a ravine directly underneath you going straight out and then a nasty left to right that was lightning fast. "The Tower" station was also very difficult. These folks will make you feel at home weather you are a beginner or a AA shooter. I would highly recommend this course and will return again. Thanks! |
Mike from Greenwich Greenwich, CT Visitor Once Reviewed 07/16/2008 | Coyote Valley Sporting Clays is the most beautiful sporting clays range I have ever visited. It is nestled in the hills between San Jose and Morgan Hill. If you know this area, you know that this setting is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for clay target shooting.
To me, the attitude and atmosphere of a range is more important than the actual clays course itself. Coyote Valley does not disappoint. The staff is friendly and completely newbie-friendly. They are great!
The course is fun and easily walkable. You will probably not need a golf cart for this course. The stations are all set up nicely with automated throwers.
I visited Coyote Valley Sporting Clays a few years ago as my first sporting clays experience. Because of that wonderful experience, I am now hooked on the sport! |
Lonnie Mears Fort Worth, TX Visitor Once Reviewed 05/19/2008 | Coyote Valley is located in a truly a beautiful setting. The staff was very friendly, targets were challenging but fair, and the overall experience was very pleasing. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely return. |
Pat Schaeffer Klamath Falls, Oregon Visitor 6-10 Visits Reviewed 04/03/2008 | I have visited 6 or 7 times in the last year and this is the best sporting clays course I've shot in California and Oregon...beautiful surroundings and great presentations for shooting abilities from beginner to seasoned. Single shooters can shoot by themselves with ease using a 3 second delayed electronic push-button set up. The pro shop is very clean, well-stocked and courteous. There's a place to clean firearms, and BBQ/eating area, golf carts if you choose. Terrific! This place is worth a membership or at least a visit. |
Kai Schumann San Diego, Ca Visitor 2-5 Visits Reviewed 09/16/2007 | Spent a week in the bay area on business, so drove up with the 28ga to get some sporting in, since there is so little here in San Diego. First day shot the valley course - nice varied layout - and I loved the programed in 3 second delay on the bird counter so I could shoot alone. Second day did the valley course again and a round of skeet. Third day made an appointment for the mountain course. Some VERY challenging presentations here - especially using a 28. All traps on the mountain course are hand set, so I had my own personal caddy who also chauffeured me in the golf cart. I could shoot as many shots as I wanted on each station to practice on the hard shots. Spent the rest of the day shooting skeet until the case of ammo ran out. Really liked this club, and will be visiting again next time I'm in the area. |
Mike Hillsborough, CA Visitor 2-5 Visits Reviewed 12/31/2006 | Sporting clays with golf-course like setting, complete with rentable golf carts to carry the 500+ ammo you will consume when shooting all 16 stations. Nice well-stocked pro shop with clean bathrooms - a rarity when it comes to shooting ranges. Excellent place to bring a newbie into the sport - they have easy stations to stratospheric goose-like shots. |
Warren Trunz Port Washington, NY Visitor Once Reviewed 08/13/2006 | We totally enjoyed Coyote Valley. The shop was fully stocked with all kinds of stuff. Tons of refreshments to buy as well.
The course was a lot of fun. The targets on the main course seemed fair to me. The staff was great as well. I wish it was a cooler day, but that was up to the good Lord. The only, only thing I would change is to have gun racks on the golf carts. Not having them made for a challenging time keeping everything in check. Other than that I loved every minute. |
Chanaan Bicoy Livermore, CA Visitor Once Reviewed 08/10/2006 | Excellent 'first timer' experience! I was introduced to 'Sporting Clays' (shotgun shooting of any style as a matter of fact) and though I don't have any other facility to benchmark against, this facility was outstanding on its own merits. The facilities (restrooms, clubhouse, field/stations, cleaning station) were all clean and well kept and the staff was very friendly and professional. I didn't feel as if I was out in some 'rustic' setting nor did I feel as if this was some 'members only' hang out. I look forward to my return visit... thank you,
