Kary Schlick Manila, CA Visitor Once Reviewed 03/17/2011 | This gals first pheasant kill couldn't have happened at any place better than G&G's. As luck or destiny may have it, my brother & I randomly met up for both our first hunt at John Giorgi's fine ranch on the flat grasslands based along the apron of Mt. Shasta. The no nonsense, hardworking Mr. Giorgi literally took us first year hunters under his wing. Rain & wind gusts joined Karl the dog handler of Griz for our spontaneous adventure. John made it so simple; 3 birds or 10, wait out the wind or give it a whirl, stay or go, pay only for what you do, the choice is yours. His "whatever suits you" attitude was refreshing as was his humble pointers, solid safety awareness & just shot the bird philosophy. Upon Griz's first flush of the sleek ring-neck rooster, I reacted w/2 shots from my 4-10, not realizing what I'd done until the athletic Griz bound back with the rooster in his soft mouth. I was hooked, everything that lead to that moment told me this was going to be the best year of my life. Thank you John & Karl & Griz and my big brother Kent & our cheer-leading mom letting me ruffle some feathers cuz this girl hooked. I got a full set of wings at G&G Pheasant Ranch. |
Dave Wolfe Jr. McCloud California Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 09/23/2010 | I have been going to G&G for many years. I even work up there along with my dad who is the 'dog trainer'. The club is an excellent place to hunt for anyone aged 9-90. The club will accommodate just about any pheasant or chukar hunting desire you may have. If you want to shoot some clay pigeons in the back forty we can do that too. We often have a little shooting session for the young ones or the inexperienced to get in a little practice before a hunt. Just let us know so that it can be arranged. No one leaves the club without a smile and a full game bag! |

Bill Ashland, OR Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 02/25/2010 | This is a great club. Especially if you need to get your dog some work in the off-season. Its open field plot hunting with a creek bed along one edge that provides some thicker cover. They plant the birds as desired or you can look around for birds that were missed by other hunters. You can get a license at the facility and there is a nice dog trainer occasionally on site who will more than likely help you out if your dog needs some work. You can buy a 10 or 20 bird punch card for $230/$460. Their is an availability for chukar but they can run out. Check this place out and enjoy a great hunting experience in a beautiful setting. |
