What a pleasant surprise. My Dad and I shoot alot of 5 stand in the Woodworth area, and always wanted to try out a SC course. We traveled down to Jennings for a morning shoot, and had a great experience. This is a very large facility, and they accommodate many regional and national shoots. Their club house is an ex steak house that is tastefully decorated. We were met with one of the owners who secured a golf cart for us and lead us to the course. There are actually 3 separate clays courses to choose from, basic, intermediate, and advanced. They also have skeet, trap and 5 stand, but we just shot the SC course this time. We shot the basic level and were neither bored, nor in over our heads. Lots of good birds thrown at 16 stations, easily marked and quite the challenge. Water was provided at about every other station for drinking. Our only complaint was perhaps not enough water available when we needed it, but in fairness to the club, the temps were in triple digits on that record hot day. We felt the club was first rate and well worth the money spent. We tried to pay in advance, but the gentleman told us we could shoot as many courses we wanted to, and to settle up when we were through. The honor system is a refreshing way to do business. We will be back during the fall and shoot a bit longer next time. I might add that the course is not directly in the thick of the woods, but rather surrounds the woods and fields in the area, and that we had no trouble with mosquitoes, etc. The cart paths could actually be easily walked, but we used the golf cart this time out. The people there were very accommodating and genuinely wanted us to enjoy ourselves. I'll be taking Dad back soon, and next time will bring a few friends with us.
