Jerry Heavner Upper Tract, West Virginia Owner
Reviewed 06/19/2011 | Upper Tract Sporting Clays Shooting Range consists of 9-10 shooting stations. It includes a mix of birds and rabbits, some crossing shots but mostly point and shoot straight away shots. Percentages of birds and rabbits are approximately 90% and 10% respectively. Most traps are manual type, so the trap man accompanies the shooters while shooting. Mixture of singles, report pairs, and true pairs are relatively evenly distributed. Most shots are relatively close, so improved cylinder choke should be your first choice, with modified choke as your second choice. Standard 108mm targets are used mostly, with approximately 10% midi targets and 10% rabbits mixed in. Mini targets were used previously, but are not being used currently. One remote control electric trap is included in the course, and is one of the favorite stations. The fee for shooting is currently $25.00 for 50 targets, ammo is not included. 12 and 20 gauge ammo is available at the range if needed and requested before shooting. We are open most Saturdays and Sundays by appointment. Other shooting times are possible upon request. Come and visit and have a good relaxing time shooting a round of sporting clays. Thank you to all of the previous shooters that have supported Upper Tract Sporting Clays. |
