Was looking for a nice sports clay course somewhere within reasonable distance of Charlotte and figured I'd give this one a try. 13 stations, fantastic helpful staff, and great prices mean I'll be back (today in fact!) The equipment was top notch and the course is absolutely beautiful to walk. (or if you prefer... drive a cart)

I'm not a hard core shooter but I can see this being my go-to place for sport clays.

I had called the previous week, and the manager informed me that on Thursday's several members start at 10:00, and I could probably hook up with them, and they serve lunch at noon.

What a great club. The club manager was very friendly, as were all the members I met. The members of this club is what makes sporting clays so great - really friendly Southern hospitality. The 13 stations were well set and I think most shooters would find a good challenge. All the traps worked and were full. They have a real nice tower throwing some good overhead targets. On a real hot July day, most of the course is in the woods and you can shoot in the shade. Great value, great hospitality - would do it again if I get back this way. Also the food was great and inexpensive - it appears the entire neighborhood stops by for lunch. Thanks to the members who made the visit a real pleasure.

I was looking for a place to shoot one Monday when a lot of facilities are closed. I reached Richard Renegar one of the owners on the phone. He said they were closed but he would be happy to meet my friend and I so we could shoot. We arrived to find a beautiful lodge - wonderful fireplace, flat screen TV, large sofas, interesting decor, soda and ice cream machines, and a store with plenty of handgun, rifle, and shotgun ammo fairly priced (I bought some .380 pistol cartridges). Richard helped us get signed in and took us out to "the huntsman" - 3 wobble traps mounted together. My friend and I shot 75 rounds each with Richard trapping for us - and he made us feel very comfortable and having a good time. We said we were getting a little tired so Richard fired up the Gator and took us for a tour of the property - showing us the skeet area, sporting clays course, and pistol range. We probably had more fun on the tour than shooting.

The following Saturday, we returned to shoot sporting clays for the first time. The course's 13 stations presented a range of challenges, from simple to (for us) impossible, and the setting was absolutely beautiful. Even when we were missing (which was often), we had a great time. After our first go-around, I stopped back in the lodge and asked the manager, Buck, for some tips on how to shoot some of the high targets, which he happily offered. As I was contemplating a snack, Ralph Renegar told me they were cooking lunch for a Boy Scout troop that was on the skeet range and invited my friend and I to join them. After we were done shooting, we sat down with Ralph and his wife and had some tasty hotdogs, homemade peach cobbler, and fun conversation.

Can't wait to go back.

Richard/Ralph – thank you very much for your warm hospitality and kindness during our recent visit to your facility. My 14 year old son Conrad and I had a great time. You have a beautiful property and the sporting clay stations were awesome. I would highly recommend that anyone who is within an hour or two of your property take the time to visit and shoot. It was a great experience and one we will definitely do again the next time we are down to visit our girls at ASU. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.
