Directions

Naval Air Station Lemoore CA HWY 198. 20 miles East of I-5 or 30 miles West of Visalia, CA. And 35 miles South of Fresno. The Naval base no longer requires vehicles to enter the base to gain access to the shooting facility. The Gun club may be reached by entering the main entrance and driving around the front gate towards the Operations side of the base. The gun club is located approx. 3 miles from the main entrance of NAS Lemoore. Once you drive around the vehicle inspection area (only for commercial traffic entering the base) you continue past the back gate of the base and continue north, in about 1 mile you will see a sign for the gun club on your right. We are open to the public and welcome all.

I say I’m a member in my title because at the time, I was employed as the club secretary at this club. If you were staff, you were considered a life member. I’m sure a lot has changed since 1984, but I’m sure I can attest today to how nice this club most likely is and give a fair opinion. Many times this club was on the verge of extinction; And, if it wasn’t for the hard work of some old names and new, it probably would have gone away decades ago. I’m glad to see it's still around. I shot my very first skeet and trap targets in the U.S.A. right here. I even shot my first 25 straight here. I began shooting overseas, and remembered the fun that it was. So, I picked skeet and trap as my new on base sport. Why? All I was given as a liberty alternative was to go drinking at the local honky-tonks, video games, or softball. I was hooked. What a great club! If you like peace and a place to relax, this is it. It’s in the middle of corn, potato, and onion fields. 25 years later, I can still remember waiting to get off work, to shoot under lights after recovering aircraft from late night FCLP missions. Best night targets I’ve ever seen. Absolutely no down field distractions either. The land is as flat as a pancake. It was so bright during the day, we through solid black targets and white for night, because it was so black. I’ll bet they still do. Take time to come here and shoot at an old surviving example of a military club. It’s from an era when military men shot guns for warrior skills, rather than wasting time with other meaningless sports. I’m sure the men and women here are still the best in the Navy...the way they all were 2 decades ago. i hope more military folks and locals will come to this club to support a bit of navy history. And most of all ENJOY some shooting! Warm regards to you all from a former VA94 SHWFOTS, (when our A7 was on the main gate podium after a clean sweep!) Lemoore...MY FIRST CLUB.

This club is located on a Navy base in Lemoore CA. However due to new road construction club users are no longer required to attempt to gain access to a military facility. Just drive right around the front gate using the operations road and the gun club will be approx. 3 miles from the main gate on the right. The club attendance has been low due to many civilians not wanting to deal with the hassle of driving on a military base. With this requirement removed we are hoping to gain more attendance. Membership is only $24 a year and not required. target rounds are 11 rounds for $30 members only and $4 a round for non members. Gun rentals are currently free for your round and 12ga shells are $5 a box on site.
