Three of us went up to Markover on Saturday February 21st. We went out with their guide Ray and his dog Maya... We had a great time, the birds flushed up beautifully and there was plenty of shooting for all... They were very courteous with their well appointed cabin, fire blazing and fresh coffee brewing all morning... Just an all around great experience - we will be back next year at least twice!!!

I had the pleasure of visiting Markover with a group of 12 guys early last spring, some with dogs and some without. They provide Pheasant, Partridge and Chukkar in the fields as well as Tower shoots. As soon as we pulled into the parking area we were greeted and told we had full use of the beautifully rebuilt cabin to have a some coffee and donuts as we got briefed on the schedule for the day and of course safety. Before we got started, the group was split into three groups with very knowledgeable guides before heading into the fields which provided plenty of challenging cover for our dogs as well as theirs to work. Our group was very pleased with everything they had to offer and plan on visiting them in the near future.

Markover provides fair chase upland bird hunts with good guides, dogs, and club house accomodations including clay bird warm-up areas.

I first visted Markover in the 1970's and had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Olsen and hunting with him. I used my own dog. I was permitted to use my dog on subsequent hunts. I remember hunting there the day Hinckley shot President Reagan and our shock hearing about it.

Mr Olsen is now deceased and I haven't hunted Markover in several years. I did speak with his daughter last year about a hunt - but couldn't get the time. I will hunt there this year and will be happy to report my experience now - almost 30 years since I first visited Markover.

Feel free to post my email should others want to contact me directly.
