Bob Sandefur St. Augustine Visitor 2-5 Visits Reviewed 02/01/2012 | Visited club 2 times. Did not feel very welcomed. Met a couple of good gentlemen but was not invited back. Joined Palatka club where I found immediate acceptance. Worth the drive there. |
Andy Spooner Ontario Canada Visitor 2-5 Visits Reviewed 09/19/2011 | I am a skeet shooter, who stopped at the St. Augustine gun club back in 2005. I was traveling with my wife and stopped to shoot a couple rounds. A gentleman by the name of Philip, took us in and showed us the club and grounds. He couldn't do enough for us, it was a nice visit.
This last winter, I stopped in again, on vacation, to shoot a couple rounds. When we arrived, Philip was working the grounds. He remembered who I was, and again, could not do enough for us!
Just recently, I also received a package in the mail, from Philip, with a post card picture of the club and a nice letter to go with it. I can not say enough about the hospitality of this gun club. It is definitely a place we will stop at, anytime we are in Florida. The grounds are beautiful and the fields are nice too. Looking forward to our next trip. |
George Joseph Jacksonville, FL Member More than 10 visits Reviewed 12/29/2009 | The st. Augustine rod and gun club is the last club in the country that hasn't been taken over by tree hugging politicians who are worried about the fish and other wildlife. Due to the nature of the periodic table the gun club is able to remain open. I have been to gun clubs all over the country, and this club has the best view hands down. The club is known mostly as a social club, and the long waiting list is full of people who don't shoot. The club has the least expensive target fee in Florida. $4 for adults and $3 for kids. All around a great gun club. |
Jason Zimmermann St Augustine Visitor Once Reviewed 10/01/2009 | Long waiting list. Called to inquire about membership and did not receive any kind of helpful answer. Subtly rude to speak to! Recommend Flagler Skeet range over this club if you live in the area. |
Peter Refsnider Orange Park, Florida Visitor Once Reviewed 12/26/2007 | Very nice club and very friendly members. L-O-N-G waiting list for membership. |
