WOW!!!!! My wife and I just experienced the Lanai Sporting Clay's this past weekend i'm still stoked. What a top notch operation,Dennis gave my wife instructions, fitted her with a shotgun and off we went(first time my wife ever shot a gun and she loved it). We had a wonderful time there, just amazing is not enough words to explain the time we had there.Off in your own golf cart, stop at 14 different stations and had sooo much fun.Would highly recommend going to experience it to anyone,Guys,Gals, and family.Already planning next trip over to Lanai to shoot again. Mahalo Dennis and Lanai sporting Clay's, see ya soon.

It was great fun. My first experience with shotguns. they gave me pointers from beginning to end. I shot 50 rounds and hit lots of clay - 3 of 4 rabbits. Would not have been so successful without their excellent tips.

It was so good I went home and got out a 12 gauge Browning which I got from my father-in-law over 30 years ago and am using it now. Lanai started it all.

The equipment all worked well. the stations were all well maintained and among excellently manicured ironwood bushes and trees. The views of Maui and Molokai were great.

The staff, the facility: all top notch.

I met friends at the Koele Lodge who come regularly to golf and shoot clays at Lanai.

I've shot registered clay's at many places near and far, have not been disappointed until this trip. Nothing creative, boring, remotes didn't operate the throwers, lack of communication. Anyone serious about shooting clay targets you would be well advised to stay clear of Lanai Pines and just play golf if you can stand up to the wind or keep the ball on the tee. If you absolutely have to go there better take your own gun and lots of money! If you overlap your precious time with the Ferry leaving Lanai you will ruin a valuable day and don't expect any help getting back from the Clay's range, your stuck there. The Pines is a terrible waste of time and money, stay on Maui go fishing.

Man what a course! And its in Hawaii too. A short but pleasant water taxi ride from Maui - and bonus whale sitings if you are lucky. This course has all the features you could imagine in a sporting clays course and more. Paved pathways, golf carts, gun rentals, and nice pro shop. The targets were a little on the soft side, but there were a few challenges. The rental guns we had would benefit from a little cleaning and one of the O/Us had trouble with the second barrel. All in all it was a great experience.

I took a trip from Maui to Lanai Pines to shoot for the day. It was a great experience. The shooting was excellent, the Lodge Outstanding, and the staff helpfull. I would highly recommend the boat trip, the Lodge and the shoot to any one on Lanai or Maui. The couse is remote enough that you might expect to see some wildlife on it. Probably the finest course I've ever shot.

Lanai Pine SC is a private club owned and operated by Castle & Cooke Resorts, that is opened to the public. It has concrete walkway/cart paths. Their sporting clays course has 14 stations. All stations have 2 traps except one that has 4 traps. They also have a 5 Stand that because they did not purchase the 5 Stand computer nor pay a royalty, it is called "Compact Sporting". There is a regulation skeet range. There is also a wobble trap with 5 stations set 16 yards from the trap in a bunker of sorts, definitely not regulation. There is also an Archery range and air rifle shooting gallery. There is a Pro Shop that has guns and motorized carts for rent. The shop sells ammo (12,20 & 28), logo wear, and some other shotgun shooting stuff. They just replaced most of their Laportes with new wireless Laportes this year (2005).

The targets are set soft. Most of resort guest are first time shotgun shooters or hunters that have never shot at clay targets. They do set a few stations with some challenging targets. Even though the course is normally set soft I do not know of any one that has run it with no misses. They do toughen it up some for tournaments; but they leave a few stations soft for the resort guests; since they often leave the tournament settings up for a week.
