I shoot this course regularly all year long. We have a great sporting course and the targets get changed about every 3 weeks or so. Our skeet and trap fields are well maintained and very well lit for evening shooting. Everyone at this club is very friendly and eager to help new shooters improve their skills. Early on I received lessons from three different coaches out here; Don Stevens, Jerry Veneklasen and John Francis. All are great coaches, but Don teaches only Skeet while Jerry and John teach any and all disciplines. If you're in the area, give Powder Creek a shot!

A friend of mine and I were in the Kansas City area and wanted to shoot trap & skeet for a couple hours over the weekend. Before going there, I used the Claytargetsonline.com search engine to find a club in the area that had what we wanted. I contacted Dan Buwie, the Manager. He was friendly and hospitable on the phone and welcomed us to come whenever we liked. On arrival, the Powder Creek Shooting Park has a beautiful facility with Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays and both Dan and the other members welcomed us and made it easy for us to use the ranges. They have a great clubhouse and the rental prices for non-members were very reasonable. This was a great find just on the basis of the facility alone, but to be treated so cordially by the other members in a large, clean clubhouse with all the fixin's was an extra bonus. What a find! And a great bunch of guys.

I enjoy the sporting clay course. They have updated it over the years, it is one of the more challenging courses I have shot.
My wife had shooting leasons there with one of the lady instructors. Our instructor, Laura, was great, very informitive, and was great at helping my wife with comfort with a gun and shooting. We have visited the course a time or two as a couple, and am glad to see that we are not the 'lone' couple shooting there. On weekends you almost always see a few women shooting with squads, and this brings great comfort to my wife when she joins us.
I recommend the club and course, they have very nice facilities. All the throwers on the sporting clay course are remote controlled, so your squad goes at their speed and do not require a thrower to go with you on the shoot. They have water out on the course when it is hot, have a clubhouse with a grill, and have a great staff and members that make you feel at home.
