I shot here as a guest of the vice president. It is relatively new and when I shot here, one skeet range was operational and the trap fields were slowly being built. The grass was barely sprouting on the fields and the dirt roads were freshly plowed. Getting in touch with someone to shoot was a task, but once I made contact, all went well. You cant just show up to shoot. You can only come as a guest four times a year before a membership is required. Since its mostly for 4h shooting and NRA instruction, if there is a 4h class in progress, airfield members must stand aside. There isn’t a clubhouse, benches, or facilities. It’s the kind of range where you just let down your tailgate and shoot. There is no night shooting and most of the members shoot early and leave. The backdrop has a challenging treeline and the houses utilize swipe cards. All in all I had a great time, but unless you made prior arrangements, don’t make it a day trip destination range. It may be closed tight.
