still the best deal in the area at 3.00 a game. it does have some weird things that throw you for a loop. the range is automated and the rangemasters watching from another building can tell if the machines are empty when red lights blink on the houses. anywhere else in america, whenever you see a red light on, youd think danger or stop. but no, not at andy dalton. so what happens is when you get ready to shoot, you see this red light on that normally would tell you someones in the house loading or cease fire. instead, it just means the machine is on and loaded. it sends mixed signals. be ready for that.

Andy Dalton is a state run operation. Brand new automated promatics are being used. Pre paid swipe cards with wireless pull buttons are on all fields. Its 3.00 a game. Range opens at 12 noon and the line that forms at the registration window prior to opening gets pretty long, since the line is for all the other disciplines as well.
When you reserve a field, you can have it all day, but if you’re going slow, rangemasters ask if you will take others in your group. Because of the wireless system, the signals were occasionally weak and numerous shots required refiring. The system has that famous and annoying delay from pushing to actual launching.
Field divider fences do not allow you to see your bird land and its possible to shoot the fence if you wait too long.
There is no shade. Still. it’s top notch, spotless, and affordable.

Range is operated by the Missouri Conservation Dept. It has EXCEPTIONAL facilities. For shotgunning, there is a pattern range with mounted 4-ft wide paper rolls provided for 3 targets, there is one Trap range, one Skeet range, and two combined Trap or Skeet ranges. New equipment installed 2014 provides wireless remote, including delay option for solo shooter use. There are 20 covered booths for pistol, rifle, and shotgun buckshot and slug shooting, with rests and scope provided at each one. Targets are supplied and can be set from 7 yd to more than 50 yd. Cease fires on pistol range is called every 15-20 minutes and well controlled, to allow changing and moving targets. Shotgunning is on your own time. Costs: $3 per booth (not per person) for pistol/rifle and Shotgun Pattern range; $3 per box of 25 shells for Trap and Skeet, with extra birds put on your purchase to cover broken birds, etc. Range card gets you a free visit every 10 visits. Well run range, very safe, helpful staff. Nice lodge building with training rooms and exhibits. There are also archery ranges and hiking trails at the facility. Great facility, highly recommended
