If you enjoy shooting, this is a great place to do it. Sporting clays are a lot of fun and the owners of this club are very nice people that run a high quality business. Prices are reasonable for the course and for ammo. Traps are always stocked, the course is cleaned up regularly, the traps are repositioned on a regular basis so you rarely get the same look at a station from visit to visit. I highly recommend The Back Forty. We have a great time, every time.

Love this place…The rabbit shoot is a blast. Every year my closest family and friends go for fathers day and of course for the rabbit shoot. I’ve taken my boys form the age of three to learn gun safety and the art of shooting safely & accurately..or not so accurately for some of us…haha. Ryan has a good thing going and he has treated me very fairly on ammo & firearms. Will be going there untill the o`l great spirt needs me full time. Oh by the way ..they serve the best dam hot dogs & they are free.

I have visited a few times, each time enjoying the adventure. At Thanksgiving this year I took my son and we had a great time. During our event I had a shell jam in the chamber and was unable to eject it. So I disassembled my gun and cut my thumb open on the barrel. The first thing that I noticed upon my return visit was that every station now has a push rod available to eject jammed shells. I’m not saying that they did this for me but it was great to see that they have their customers safety in mind……Thanks for a great place to shoot.

The very first time I shot sporting clays was at this course. Since then I’ve been back many times. I truly did not appreciate just how great this place was until I visited several others while on vacation in South Carolina. One of them is very well known and will be hosting the US Open Clays tournament next year. The Back Forty stacks up extremely well to both of the other courses I’ve shot. The staff is very friendly and down to earth. The equipment works well with very few hiccups. The course is challenging and just plain great fun. Top notch!!

GREAT PLACE, ran by good people! The course was great, all kinds of different looks, average to challenging.. Price was well within reason, and course/facility was definately worth the drive. Would definately recommend you check this one out! Approx. 1:40 min drive from Lansing, IL.

Each year we come north for Thanksgiving to visit family. On black Friday the men in my wife’s family and I go to shoot while the women go shopping. We have done this for a number of years now and it really is a great place to spend the day. The staff are great. Looking forward to this years trip. Leroy

Great place to shoot. Very friendly owners, easy to talk to. The stations have been set up different almost every time I’ve been there, which makes it more fun to return. Very nice facility, and well maintained. My favorite place in this area to shoot!

What a great club! The management and employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Very shooter oriented. We shot many targets and had very little problem with the traps or broken targets. Very well stocked and run club house and pro shop. I will shoot here again for sure.

This is a very well run establishment. It offers over 20 different shooting stations with multiple throwers. The gun shop is well stocked with any items that may have been forgotten by visitors. The throwing angles offer a wide variety of shooting speeds and angles, always keeping the shooter on his toes. This club is highly recommended.

This is a great place to shoot. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The first time I went they took time to show me the course and the grounds. They change the course regularly to keep it challenging. If you like sporting clays you will like the Back 40.

Excellent club with helpful knowledgeable staff. The grounds are well maintained and always relaxing. The equipment has yet to malfunction (except a couple of shatter on release birds) and is state of the art. Great time!

Great place to spend time with friends and family. Friendly atmosphere with lots of different set ups. You will not get bored with the same angles because they change up the course on a regular basis. The new banquet hall is spectacular!! Great place for parties or club banquets!! Will be back soon..

Located in the middle of a cornfield. The area is a low-lying portion of the field that has grown up with 30-60′ Oaks and other trees. Two separate ranges feature interesting and challenging target presentations. Great clubhouse and all in all a very well run range. Well worth the drive out. Check out their Bunny Shoot in early April! 100 Rabbit targets that will drive you batty! They feature a 60′ tower to add to the interesting presentations.

I shoot at this club at least twice a month, I consider it my home course. This club has two 10 station courses, The green course is a very enjoyable course that experienced & novice shooters alike can enjoy with the red course being for the more experienced shooter that wants to be humbled. They have wobble trap as well that makes for a nice warm up. This club is very affordable and the atmosphere of the clientele & employees makes it a great place for the whole family to shoot.(children shoot for half price). Larry Meister, the owner, has really put his heart into this place and it shows.

Great place to shoot close to South Bend. Friendly people to shoot with and a good variety of targets. It’s out in the country and relativley easy to find. They have their own website with good directions.

We’ve been shooting at Back 40 since we started in Sporting Clays, about 2 years ago. They continue to improve the club constantly, and just went to automatic traps on the Green course about a month ago. Friendly place to shoot, and they deal in anything you need (guns, ammo, reloading supplies, apparel). Every spring they hold a “bunny shoot” – if you’re near Indiana, don’t miss it.
