Very nice club. I can see how they were able to have the big shoots. USOpen regional etc. Interesting courses, shot them both one super tough and one very easy

One of the nicest facilities I have ever been to. The grounds were immaculate. All the equipment, stands, cart were in fine condition and in perfect working order. I shot the harder of the two sporting clays courses, and it was indeed a challenge. Absolutely fantastic!

Shot here 2019 sporting clays and skeet while on vacation. Very nice facility with friendly staff. Sporting clays course was very good with a nice variety of targets. Will defiantly shoot more there this winter.

This was our third trip to Backwoods Quail. Two last December and again in June of 2018 while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Challenging and interesting targets, everything in perfect working order. The staff is friendly and helpful. It’s on the list for the next time we are in the area.

My wife and I are sporting clays shooters and have been hearing about this club for quite sometime. We have friends in S.C. So we decided to visit them and shoot at Backwoods. There are two courses — green and orange. The green course offers targets of a mid range shooters ability. It is laid out in a picturesque landscape including shots over water and down wooded corridors. The orange course will test anyone’s ability and ego. High, fast shots that are at a distance are common. Promatic traps are on both courses. My wife and I have shot at many clubs across the country and would be hard pressed to find a club with better courses of fire, better overall club layout and a more professional staff. I guess we can sun it all up by saying that if we had to drive the six hours south again from Virginia to shoot at Backwoods we certainly would and will.

Backwoods is a top notch facility and challenges the shooter with presentations weaving woods, open fields, water, and even a monster scissor jack.
Good place to gain experience and humility😎

For the past 4 years my uncle has taken me to Back Woods while visiting him. The facility is much better than anything we have back in Missouri and there is a more friendly atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and looking forward to come back.

Absolutely outstanding target setting in a pristine environment should make Back Woods Quail Club a “must visit” destination for any sporting clays enthusiast. I shot both their intermediate and tournament level courses over Memorial Day Weekend and I couldn’t have been more pleased. As a registered shooter (B class), I really appreciated being able to practice on targets of all types and difficulty levels.

Wow, this is true Southern hospitality at its finest! Took a day off with my husband to visit the club and it truly exceeded every expectation we had. Beautiful setting, outstanding staff (thank you Dave), unbelievably kept fields…we had a blast and will return. Thanks Back Woods Quail Club!!

My wife and I visited this club last week and were very pleased. We were traveling by RV and used the campground. The club staff could not have been more courteous and accommodating. I shot several rounds of trap and took an excellent lesson on the clays course from one of the club’s instructors. Everything was terrific and we surely plan to return.

We took my 13 year old son and his friends for his birthday there. They all enjoyed it. Staff for friendly and willing to answer any questions. Would recommend this to anyone with teenage boys who like to shoot skeet and have no where to shoot. We are planning another trip.

I visited this club while vacationing at Myrtle Beach with my family recently. It’s a bit of a drive but well worth it. The facilities and equipment are top notch and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Next time you visit the beach, pack your shotgun! You won’t be disappointed.

Shot at the club yesterday while in Myrtle Beach visiting my cousin. We had a great time, nice facility and very friendly staff and shooters. I would recommend this club to anyone .

Absolute first class operation, I can see why they are the home of the US Open Sporting clays competition. My wife and I put our guns and golf clubs in the car and drove to South Carolina to get away from the cold and snow. We will definitely be going back again, they were very friendly and helpful. I think there will be a hunt on the next trip.

I pretty much grew up at Backwoods. I took shooting lessons from Robert, shot five stand, trap and everything else I could enter. We were members for the longest but then moved back to Tennessee. I have to say, Backwoods is one of the best Sporting Clays clubs around. Don’t ever pass up an opportunity to go and if you have kids and if they still offer it, their summer camp program is a blast.

Was driving down to Kiawah Island from Myrtle Beach so the wife and I decided to stop and shoot some sporting. The property and course were first class. The staff was friendly and helpful and we will return again. I had my over under with me but needed to rent a 20 gauge/youth model for the wife which was a $25.00 rental charge. Bring your guns and ammo , they are priced high here. Very nice place …I even bought one of their hats. We will be back for sure.

I shot a round of sporting clays at Backwoods Quail Club for the first time this weekend and had a great experience. The clubhouse, course, and other facilities are top notch! We were with an organized group with a conference at Myrtle Beach.
It is a bit out-of-the-way from MB, but easy to find, which is its treasure. It is a great club in its own right for anyone withing driving distance. For those on a Grand Strand vacation, I recommend this to any avid shooter interested in a small “escape” from the hustle and bustle of MB, especially if they are trying to find some real time-out while on vacation.

What a treat! I decided to find this club today and I WILL RETURN!! A great facility with something for every shooter. I was greeted by the owner, Rick Hemingway who explained their expansive layout then shot Sporting Clays with another gentleman who arrived about the same time as I. We were taken around the Green Course, a more ‘forgiving’ course than the Orange, in a golf cart by Dave – a most informative and cordial guy. After the round was over, Dave took me on a tour of the grounds – it was very impressive. If you’re ever within 100 miles of this club, you must make an effort to check it out. I just wish I lived closer. I’d be a regular member and frequent shooter. Try it!!!

Backwoods is a great course to visit. I try to get down there at least 4 times per year. Rick is a fantastic host, and Dave always has targets that offer a challenge. The property is awesome and especially enjoyable when you can see the wildlife from a golf cart. I recommend this facility to anyone who is visiting coastal South Carolina.

My group has visited Backwoods several times now on our golf trips to
the beach. Backwoods offers everything a shooter will need. Very nice
staff and a great sporting clays layout. The Orange course takes it
up a notch for sure. It is well worth the short drive out into the country side.

We visited Backwoods during a vacation to Isle of Palms after many attempts to find a sporting clays facility closer to Charleston. The facilities are top notch and the staff does a great job of making your shooting experience a pleasant one. I would highly recommend Backwoods to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach or Charleston. You may want to take a broom with you to sweep the turkeys out of the way.

If you are vacationing at Myrtle Beach, take your shotgun along and call these good folks for the “backwoods” driving directions via Conway instead of Georgetown. Get a good road atlas, and enjoy some rural South scenary along the way without all the traffic of the main drags on Myrtle Beach. I don’t know about you, but after about one day at the beach, I have had enough beach — but I am the only one in the whole family that feels that way. I did an Internet search for skeet and sporting clays before we drove south from WVa., but of the five places I found, only Backwoods was open for business when I wanted to shoot. Backwoods Quail Club gives you a good place to relax and shoot. Very helpful and friendly folks, very reasonable fees, and a good facility. I wish I lived closer to check out their bird and deer hunts, but it’s a very long drive for me.
Make sure you ask to see the gallon-size pickle jar half-full of rattlesnake rattles; it sure impressed me!

This club is awesome. I went there on my birthday to shoot while vacationing in Myrtle Beach. I was escorted by a very nice young lady who pulled birds for me. The sporting clays course was impressive along with the skeet fields. I hope they are ready for me this year. I am bringing extra shells along with a new gun. Let’s keep em breakin’
