Nice sporting clays course to walk or use a golf cart and friendly and helpful staff.
A fair number of easier targets for beginners to sporting clays as well as one station (18) set up to make it easier for younger shooters just starting out. Also more challenging true pairs throughout the course. Gun rentals as well as ammunition is available. Very clean facility and accommodating to beginning shooters.
Large and covered 5 stand with parking next to it.
Outdoor covered rifle and pistol ranges with RSO’s

This was my first visit to Bay County Shooting Range. This is a Florida Wildlife Commission maintained range, consisting of Sporting Clays, 5 Stand, pistol and rifle ranges. The Sporting Clays course consist of 18 2-trap stations with programmable controllers, allowing a lone shooter to shoot by himself. The Carts are in good condition and the cart paths are paved, meaning that neither mud nor dust is a problem here. The Shooting stations are all covered, providing protection from the Florida sun. All equipment is in good working order. The staff is friendly and helpful. First time visitors are required to view a safety film (about 10 min). The targets are set for the average recreational shooter. Shot as true pairs, however, the presentations can be quite challenging. The Target Setter actively seeks feed back pertaining to your likes and dislikes about his targets – an unusual and nice personal touch.
Be forewarned, however, that “Look Birds” are not part of the package. It is expected that a first time visitor who has never seen the course is able to shoot without “Look Birds”. Menus are provided to help the new shooter. While that helps, it does not provide adequate data for planning and executing your shot. If you shoot the proper way, by analyzing a pair of look birds, it is going to cost an extra $0.76 per station for this privilege ($0.76 X 18 stations = $14). Management will credit you for “no or broken” birds, if you keep track of them.
All in all, a nice facility with good targets and friendly people.
