My wife and I shot at Benton during a recent Sporting Clay Road trip ( July 9th , 2018 ) and very much enjoyed the facility . The trees and terrain were an appreciated change to most of our sites in Texas . We try to shoot during trips throughout the country and would recommend this as a stop for anyone else looking to explore shooting venues . Very friendly and accommodating . Nice selection of shooting options .

I have never done anything like this before and I must say I had a great time. I’m instantly addicted. Can’t wait to do it again. Thank you to Tommy for inviting me and my husband. An experience I’ll never forget!

I have shot sporting clays at Benton Sporting Clays on 4 or 5 occasions. It is a very nice facility. It is clean and well maintained. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
The rolling semi-wooded terrain provides a good background for a wide variety of targets, including several presentations of targets below your feet. They also have tower shots from a couple of stations. A couple of stations have shots out over a lake. Each shooting stand is well constructed of sturdy lumber. Each stand has at least one gun rack for multiple guns.
There is a nice paved cart path between each station from start to finish. You can either walk the course or rent a riding cart for a reasonable fee. They have electronic target controllers so you can shoot the targets with a group or alone if you wish by using the “delay” timer on the controller. You can shoot as much as you want at any station or skip stations if you want. You pay for targets according to how many you shoot/throw. It is all automated. Target difficulty varies from station to station with something suitable for all skill levels.
Rental guns are available, as is ammunition and accessories such as safety glasses, ear plugs, etc. Soft drinks, water, and snacks are also available.
If you’re in southeast Tennessee or passing through on I-75 (which is nearby), you ought to stop in and do some shooting. It’s in a scenic part of the country.

I was passing through east TN and stopped by Benton Sporting Clays on a cold and wet Monday in Dec. Didn’t have the opportunity to shoot the course because of the weather but the covered 5 stand was a delight. The facilities are very nice and the staff accommodating. I hope to return when the weather is better so I can take advantage of the entire facility.

Shot the sporting clays on 03/16 on my way to Bristol for the NASCAR race. A top class facility, challenging birds, and Matt was very welcoming. Will definitely come here and shoot again. They have a shooting supplies store in Benton and if you can’t find what you’re looking for then it hasn’t been made.

Has to be the most beautiful clays course in the state! After my first visit I thought it must also be the most difficult. But a second attempt produced somewhat better results.
Folks are top-notch, course is immaculate with state-of-the-art equipment, and the layout is unbelievable! You owe it to yourself to give them a visit. You will NOT be disappointed!
