On my way back to Fort Myers from North Carolina, I decided to visit Big Red Oak. I had heard good things about it and wanted to check it out. I was not disappointed. The facility has two Sporting Clays courses with the ability to set up a third when required for big events. The targets were excellent with a variety of up and down hill shots, open meadows, and wooded presentations. Traps performed virtually flawlessly. Carts are available, but the courses are very walkable if you are so inclined. Prices are reasonable.
Staff was very welcoming and helpful. You should put this on your list of Clubs to visit. I will do so when I am back in the area.

My wife and I visited this facility on 6/27/14 while on vacation visiting family. We found the facility from Clay Targets Online.com and decided to give it a try. Boy, are we glad that we did! The grounds are beautiful, with clay presentations over water, in meadows, and open fields. This is by far the prettiest sporting clay facility we have visited, and there were several course levels of difficulty from which one could select.
The Manager (Mike) was very friendly and explained all the plantation had to offer. He took the time to check on us out on the course to make sure everything was operating properly (all throwers worked perfectly) and that we were enjoying ourselves. We rented an O/U at the facility which operated flawlessly. We enjoyed ourselves so much we shot 250 rounds between the two of us. While not absolutely necessary, we rented a golf cart to whisk us around the course and to later explore all the stations at the facility. We normally shoot in California; the scenery and atmosphere here was a pleasant change of pace. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Seven generations of my family have farmed and preserved this land. Where Cotton fields once dominated the landscape, now there are 2,500 acres of broom-sedge and pine trees making Big Red Oak Plantation a sportsman’s paradise. We will be hosting the 2013 GSCA Championship June 19-23rd and hope you will come and sharpen your shooting skills at one of our three sporting clays courses.
Thank you for your support,

Visited club for the first time while attending a registered event. I was very pleased with everything about the place. I shot both sporting clay courses and they were both, gorgeous and very well maintained. Great hospitality, great targets, beautiful setting…what else could you ask for. I plan on getting back there whenever I’m in the area.

This is a very nice facility and the people there really try to make you feel at home. Mike and counter staff are delightful and will do everything to make your stay great. The sporting clays are good as well as the five stand. If you want to hunt, they can also fix you up with that or even take your own dog and hunt by yourself. Give them a try they will make you happy. If you want a good hamburger Mikes Moma-in-law makes up a really good hamburger and or hotdog.

Rode up to shoot skeet, but there are no longer any skeet fields there. I shot a couple rounds of 5-Stand and came home. It’s a nice place, members were friendly enough, just didn’t have my game of choice.
