We have been shooting “clays” here since they opened nearly 20 years ago. Rick and his crew are friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to help. We go here for events during family reunions, entertaining out of town visitors, or just for a family day outdoors. Out of state visitors are amazed by this beautiful facility! A round costs less than golf at most golf courses and I never go home mad after a day at Big Sky. My wife has shot a few rounds the last couple of years and now wants to take up the sport. Anything you say Dear 🙂

We own a vacation home in the Whitefish area and my husband, Craig, is a VERY active sporting clays shooter in MN so discovering Big Sky Sporting Clays has further enhanced our love of MT. While I do not shoot sporting clays, I do shoot trap, skeet, hunt over our pointing dogs, and love to hike. A day trip to Big Sky Sporting Clays makes my husband very happy and I get to hike, enjoy the scenery and sometimes add a round of golf at the Polson Golf Course. A win, win for us both. Now that we are both retired, we hope to introduce many of our MN shooting friends to Big Sky Sporting Clays! Craig says, “the courses are challenging and beautiful”.

First time shooting clays. The range is nicely laid out and the view was fantastic. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the outing and shooting. The facility is clean and staff was courteous. Evertime we go to Whitefish we will stop and shoot clays.

My son’s family live in Polson. Over the past ten years, he and I (and now my 13 yr old grandson) have shot at Van Vorst’s. The two sporting clay couses are great…set along a ridgetop overlooking the river. Targets come from above, below, all angles and presentations. Maybe best yet is the staff, friendly, considerate and patient. It is a ‘must’ stop. Enjoy it.

I love shooting sporting clays, it reminds me allot of bird hunting. When I am done shooting sporting clays you realize how boring trap shooting is compared to skeet and sporting clays. I started shooting up there when I joined Pheasants forever.

This was the best experience of our family reunion on Flathead lake this year. For most of us, it was our first time shooting “Sporting Clays” and all the team at Big Sky, especially Terry, were great. From shotgun rentals to giving us a brief tutorial about the process and the technology, it was a great experience and we hope to come visit again soon. Thanks again for a great time.

I try to shoot 10-12 rounds of clays in the off season to stay tuned for bird season so I’m not a competitor or what I would call frequent shooter. Having said that, I would rate Van Voast’s as the best sporting clay facility I have shot in Oregon, California, Washington or Alaska.
The course is very well maintained, there has always been someone on the course, moving around looking for problems. On both courses, the target presentations are excellent and imaginative. The employees/family are friendly, courteous and helpful.
Finally, the last time I shot there, my wife came along and trapped for me. She was overwhelmed by the scenery, Mission mountains to the east, Flathead River in the opposite direction, deer wandering around and an occasional Chinese Chicken flushing.

Two courses, excellent target presentations using ridge tops, very friendly and courteous management, one of the best facilities I have ever shot at

Haven’t been there for a year or two, but every time I had been there in the past, the course was well presented, good honest targets, not floppers. And the staff was always friendly and accommodating. Having shot clays in several countries and virtually all US States and most provinces of Canada, Big Sky ranks high in my estimation.

I visited this facility and enjoyed it so much, we returned the second day and shot again.
2 very nice, different courses will test both the novice and best shooters. Great clubhouse with fireplace, pool table and bar. Very friendly folks and we even had the chance to shoot a couple rounds of skeet with one of the owners. Good, down to earth people.
