Very well maintained facility. Very dedicated personnel. Very reasonable cost. Members are friendly and helpful. Have really enjoyed trap shooting there.

Guys (gals?), there is a cap/hold on new members right now & has been for a several months. There were some issues with crowding at peak times & the club is currently in the middle of expanding/improving both the pistol & rifle facilities. If you have friends that are members, please ask them to let you know as soon as new members are being accepted again.

As your whether you are black or white I can’t say it makes a difference one way or the other (however I am white). I came to seek membership for the rifle and pistol portion of the club along with another white individual (not associated with) and we were both refused the opportunity to look at the range and told the club was not taking members. I think personally their is some discrimination going on….no doubt. I for one am from the North and do not talk just right. I WILL say that the trap section of the club was extremely welcoming and friendly. I will also say that I was refused membership by several local clubs in the area that stated they were full. Unfortunate if you have been discriminated against as well.

A neighbor of a friend who lives near the club told us that he had gone there to shoot without becoming a member. They let him try out the facility to see if he would be interested in membership. So on that bit of information we decided to go. We had the worst time finding the place (even with GPS). They have a very small sign by the side of a country road. We visited the club and they took one look at us and in a VERY brief conversation told us they had no room left for membership and we could not even try out the facility. So if you are black do not waste your time.

I will put it simply. If you are black do not go. You are not welcomed!

This range is exactly what a gun club should be. It has a friendly corp group of members who are welcoming and encouraging to non-member visitors. The men and women who shoot at Buckhorn take there sport seriously, but in between rounds there’s plenty of friendly conversation and joking around. Most importantly, this is an extremely safe facility, with clear and reasonable rules that keep everyone secure.

I visited the club for a trap shooting lesson. The group there was having a shoot, and they treated me like a member. I highly recommend this club, and would be a member if I lived nearby.

I visited Buckhorn today for the first time. It was also the first time I had ever been exposed to trap and skeet shooting. Every person I met was super nice and very welcoming.
I know I will go back again, and plan to become a member.
