I really used to enjoy shooting at this club but it is now member only. Unfortunately membership requirements include being a member of the NRA.

Great place to shoot. We shot trap over three days and enjoyed ourselves. Martin the Range Manager was friendly and told us all about the facility. We are looking to relocate to SC and would join this club. They had an extensive selection of rifle/pistol range facilities along with a 2-D bow range. The weather was cold so it was not heavily in use.

The shotgun range is awesome, the people are nice. Bob was a volunteer at the range which helps beginners get accustomed to shooting before moving on to the more challenging areas. The two range officers I’ve had experience with today took an intimidating sport and made it a fun and exciting sport the way it should be.

Good friendly place to shoot. Steve Rubin has made the shotgun range great over the last 10+ years. If the rifle safety officers were as nice as the Safety folks at the shot gun range the club would grow dramatically. Some of the rifle Safety Officers are arrogant, unfriendly and will spell doom for our club for which I have been a member since 1997. On a recent visit to the rifle range (with a potential new member) I asked all shooters (I thought) if they were ready for the range to go “cold” (red lights flashing). Upon activating the lights one of the shooters pitched a full bitch (saying that I had not tapped him on the shoulder and made sure that “he” was O.K. with the range going “cold”)and would not take an apology (on my part) and continued to complain for a full 10 minutes. After that, a Range Safety Officer (with no ID) came over to my station and continued to make a huge deal out of the situation. This was not a “safety issue” since I was trying to make the range “Cold”. If I had made the range “hot” with folks downrange placed at risk I could almost understand the huge deal but it took all of my law enforcement training not to over react to the insults sent my way. Needless to say, my potential new member decided not to join. If we are to continue as a viable club we need friendly Safety Officers at both the shot gun and rifle areas.

This is a very nice, well maintained club. I went just after lunch on a Wednesday, and the club was pretty busy.
I had read the other reviews, and was thinking it would be unfriendly, but it was not. The man in charge took my money ($6.00 per round for visitors) explained how things work, gave me my tokens for the trap machines, and that was it.
The people I met there and shot with were all very friendly, and I had a great time.
I will definitely be going back.

I have heard a lot of bad reviews from friends that had attended this facility, but I wanted to keep an open mind and decide for myself. I have since visited this facility four times and I have not been impressed. This could be a great place to go. I had every intention to become a member because its so close to the house, but after learning the HIGH price to pay to become a member, and then getting insulted by the safety officer because we shot the remaining birds on the SKEET field, I have decided that I will not be going back. Three of us shot 3 rounds of SKEET and once we were done we shot off the remaining birds that we had PAYED for. The safety officer came over and made a big scene and scolded us for doing so. His reason was that you do not shoot them unless you need them. They were not for practice.

I find the emphasis on profit to be odd considering their tax-exempt, non-profit status. They treat guests as a necessary evil to support their club.

Not a friendly place overall. My feeling is that this attitude comes from the management down. They have safety officers that lord over you, especially if you are a guest, and just seem to want to intimidate with stares and nick picking your shooting ability (not help).

Guests are relegated to a field far from the clubhouse and must shoot there even if the member fields are empty, but then members come to the guest fields to shoot and treat us like we don’t belong. Nowhere else in the area to shoot, so I tolerate the disrespectful treatment.

This place will do in a pinch.

I have been going to this shooting range ever since I was maybe 13 years old. It has changed/grown a lot over the years. The people who run the club have changed as well. It is run a lot more like a business these days, which can be a good thing and a bad thing. It has organized the club more and has probably made it more profitable which will shore up the likelihood of the club being around for another 20 years. I really like all the people who run the facility and they always put SAFETY first. I think this can be a little intimidating to newcomers, so just be prepared. I have been to many shooting ranges over the years and this one seems to be a little on the clicky side and the facility undeniably values its members more than its nonmembers (as it very well should). It is no bargain to shoot here, but you definitely get what you pay for with how nice the facility is. I would recommend this range to anyone. If you go on Wednesday or Friday or when it’s a little on the colder side it is not as crowded. Have Fun and Be Safe!

Went this afternoon to the Shotgun Range and found a very well run and very active range! I had to wait a few minutes for the skeet field to clear, but then switched to a round of trap anyway since a group was just getting done. Shot with one of the managers from the range because of my limited experience shooting. All in all, great day, and a range I would recommend to anyone interested in the sport. Trap was $6.75 for the round if I recall correctly and ammo was about $7.25. The range has 3 loaner guns, so you may have to wait like I did.
