This is the first time I have been to this range. Im new to the area. I have shot sporting clays at a few places and am NOT an experienced trap shooter. I just enjoy shooting and like to have a fun outing with friends. I came here to try this new place out because it is 15 minutes from my home and I was hoping to find a new place to shoot with my friends. So the good stuff: All the trap throwers worked perfectly and all stations were fun and challenging. The pricing is very fair also. If I had been allowed to, I would have enjoyed it very much. The minute I arrived the owner made me feel very unwelcome. He insisted on driving me to the stations on his Gator and pulling for me. My son was with me and he was going to pull for me, he enjoys doing that, but he insisted. He also insisted that since I was just one shooter, I shouldn’t see a presentation bird at the stations, as that was a waste of his birds. He rushed me through each station, because “he had more shooters coming later to shoot behind me, and wanted to make sure I was done” So much for taking my time and enjoying my round of clays. I felt like I was looked down on because I didn’t have a $20,000 Kawasaki Mule and a $5,000 Beretta shotgun. I was just a waste of his time and his precious birds. At the sixth station he “allowed” my son and I to take off and finish the last 6 stations ourselves after I assured him that my son was able to count to 4 and that I wouldn’t look at presentation birds or shoot more birds than he thought was proper. I felt like he was watching over my shoulder the whole time and that he was sure I was going to steal from him. I felt completely unwelcome, and felt that since I’m just an everyday shooter I was a waste of his time. Im very disappointed and really quite pissed off. Ive never been treated this way at any of the ranges Ive been to in this state and have already called several friends and told them to stay away from this place unless they carry a million dollar price tag on their gear. Wish I hadn’t had this experience this close to home. Really disappointed.

Davie’s County has always had good targets, and the new management has been have excellent targets for all Sporting Clays classes and has put on some very good tournaments. The equipment is well maintained with very few trap issues, and when you call the clubhouse, Jesse the manager is quick to respond and get you up and going. Nice clubhouse and great burgers on tournament days.

I have shot sporting clays at this club three times this year and liked it so much that I joined this past weekend. The owners are very nice and the mechanical throwers have performed great each time I visited. The presentations are changed frequently and offer a nice mix of shots, and the terrain is an easy walk on either course.

I have found the club members are the greatest people. Everyone needs to come out and shoot with the members because they are friendly and very helpful. No matter if you are a member, past member or just passing through, come and enjoy this great sport at Daviess County Gun Club.

Great gun club for 100 sporting clays, 50 sporting clays, trap, and skeet. Any visitor welcomed and really a fun place, away from the city just far enough so as not to bother neighbors. Any shotgunner in the area, whether visiting or just driving through, ought to give the place a visit!
