My boyfriend took me out to learn to shoot my new gun. He had been going to Red’s in Pflugerville (an awesome indoor facility but a little pricey). We read on other review sites the staff was grumpy, yelled, etc. I found them to be an awesome group of men who only barked if you were not following their safety rules during the “cease fire” periods. They were very knowledgeable, helpful and even humorous at times. It is a little drive out (30 minutes from work), but for $10 for the entire day versus $15/hr at Red’s, it was totally worth it. We spent 3 hours out there and had a blast!

After an exhaustive search to find SOMEWHERE to shoot skeet, trap, or 5-stand near me, this range looked fairly user friendly. The on-line representation was not accurate. The range is well laid out and well maintained, but not very economical for use, especially if you have to travel to get to it. This is primarily a rifle/pistol range. The shotgun portion is equipped with a small, plain 5-stand and five additional firing points with manual, self-operated, spring type throwing points. This range is very, very, very particular about safety, practically to the detriment of the experience. Although you can never be too safe, you can worry so much about safety that you adversely affect the shooting experience. That is what happened here. If you go take plenty of cash, or a checkbook. No credit/debit or ATM service. ATM is about six miles from the range. Anybody you wished to join you just to watch, or that you are trying to interest in the sport is only welcomed if they pay the all day usage fee, and purchase their range card. Not the range for the friendly environment of camaraderie and sportsmanship that I have come to expect from our sport.
