Very, very nice course. Highly recommend if one visits this sporting clay range to bring a golf cart or highly recommend renting one because the course is spaced out (approx. 1.3 miles long) and the terrain is extremely hilly. They have a Crazy Quail thrower which is nice to shoot after the sporting clay course as well.

One thing I did not care for and the club needs to address is being charged for every clay. My group during this visit consisted of 2 other shooters beside myself. We experienced a good deal of broken clays (I would say no less than 50, that’s no exaggeration). Most of the broken clays were not due to faulty equipment, but vegetation, some were due to faulty true pair presentations. We noted which stations and which throwers had the problems and yet were still charged for the broken clays.. ~ They knew about some of the problems with certain stations. So our bill to shoot the course was rather hefty.

Note: If you want to see the first 2 birds(at each station), you will have to pay for the shows. We were aware of this prior to shooting the course.

Overall a very nice course, just a bit expensive.

This is a first class operation that has great people, a beautiful range through scenic woods and good targets. There are 12 sporting clay’s stations with two electric traps at each. When we visited the targets were generally close, but it still took some focus to shoot a good score. Nice to occasionally find a range that doesn’t depend on super long range birds. I can’t say enough good things about Gretchen the kind lady at the front desk. She went way out of her way to take care of us.

I first visited this club in August 2014. They had just opened a new sporting clays course that was supposed to be special. I shot the course and toured the entire facility. I joined that day. Spectacular describes the clays course. a full mile course thru beautiful terrain. The rest of the facility offers a full range of clay shooting sports, Trap, skeet, five stand and crazy quail. Time has only improved the sporting clays course with many landscaping improvements to finish off a top notch set up. The people involved in making this all happen are super as well. Friendly and open to new ideas, the club officers and members work hard to make newcomers feel welcome. If you come and shoot this course and don’t think it’s one of the nicest you’ve seen, dinner is on me. George Moilanen Drummond Island MI

I was just there once as a visitor and was so impressed that I will be joining. They have everything a real shotgun sports persons dream come true. They keep it so clean and beautiful there. The people come right up to you introduce themselves shaking your hand, I thought I was in heaven. Can’t wait to go back.

On Saturday August 21st, the club hosted it’s first kid’s shotgun shoot. What a great time. My son Ian had a fantastic time at the event. Having never been exposed to shooting, the getting to know a shotgun lesson was very informing, a great job by Keith. Once outside, the members, John and Chris made the idea of shooting fun and easy. Ian was ear to ear smiles for the entire weekend. Of course he had a few sore muscles the next morning. We look forward to next year’s shoot with great expectations. In the car on the way home Saturday, Ian said to me “Dad, throw away the golf clubs and buy me a shotgun.” I want to thank each of the people involved with the event. What a great way to expose youngsters the the sport of shooting. Thanks for the introduction. We’ll be back for sure…..

    Sincerely,

    Paul and Ian Giles
