I enjoy shooting the five stand here. It is a circular walking course but you can drive your truck right up to where it begins and ends, which makes it handy for accessing more shells or switching guns if you want to shoot the course twice. Very friendly folks there.

I always enjoyed shooting at Isaac Walton Gun Club. They were a great bunch of guys. Since I enjoy skeet, I can’t think of a better setup for a small club than IWGC. They throw good targets, the ranges were clean and the background is very good, not perfect, but very good. My problem is that I live so far away that I would need to bring a camper or stay in a motel. I live 35 miles north of Jasper, and I imagine that Jasper is another 35 miles north of IWGC. Add in the gas bill and the cost of shooting, (which is nominal for a member, but a little pricey for non-members) and it can be prohibitive for retirees on SS.
I still like the club and I will be there again someday.

I have been a member of Izaak Walton for ten years. This is a great place to practice the shooting sports and other outdoor activities such as; 4-wheeling, fishing, and bow hunting. The caretakers are always friendly and helpful. The officers not only take care of administrative duties but are always willing, with the help of other members, to improve the grounds. Any one wanting to get involved with an organization that includes the above mentioned activities and conservation should not hesitate to become a member of our local chapter.

Stopped in after calling for directions. The woman on the phone gave perfect instructions. Upon arrival I was greeted by a couple of children who told me that grandma was in the hallow mowing. One of them hopped on a bike to get her. While I waited I checked out the joint. Two skeet and two trap fields. Trap houses were not open. Trap houses were not hooked up yet either. Once grandma arrived I asked about shooting and was informed I should be a member but since there were no members that she could allow me to shoot. Realizing earlier that I had forgotten my ear protection I asked if I could buy some of the cheap foam kind but she was out. I left without shooting. Bummer. But grandma was nice and I will head back out some time when I get a chance.
