I’ve written about Foxhall several times, and they continue to be an excellent destination. I typically bring clients and prospects for a round of sporting clays or a few lessons and some five stand, and everytime – my guests are completely satisfied. The customer service is fantastic, the course is well designed, and the character of the grounds is unbelievable. Foxhall has first quality rental equipment but we bring our own. Their carts are top-of-the-line, no punnie golf carts here.
If I could compliment them anymore, they would have to hire me as a spokesman. Go see for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

It’s been a while since my last update. The Club is still the finest around Atlanta. The course keeps getting better with age, and the target placements are always interesting and challenging. The Club has stopped the equestrian activities and emphasizes their wedding venue business, which I think diminishes the ambience of a sporting club. There were three weddings the day we went to shoot.

The club has also changed some policies about “public” shooters, so make sure you call ahead, or they may not let you shoot.

Targets are great, carts are great, and the people are great – so it’s still my favorite club.

Just wanted to give an update; the club just keeps getting better ! We shot at the Spring Clays registered shoot today, and the course was great. The people and the personal service they provide are unparalleled. You just have to go shoot, and be ready for “first class” !

Wow! I was at Foxhall this past weekend for a corporate shoot and I was blown away not only with the sporting clays course but the whole facility. I live in Vinnings and do a decent amount of shooting and have heard of Foxhall but had no idea what all it had to offer. It is a full service country/sporting club with several different activities including equestrian, fishing and hunting and my personal favorite was the pro shop with full line of beretta apparel. The course was the best I have seen with a fully automatic key system, covered decks as stations and incredible staff. It is a tough course and a little bit more expensive than other courses I shoot but the quality is definitely worth the difference. I signed up for their sharpshooter annual pass which was $200 and allows me to have my own key I can preload with targets at a discounted price of $.35. Best of all I can get there in 35 minutes!

Absolutely the best sporting club in the metro Atlanta area, and it’s only 25 minutes west of Hartsfield Airport ! As a point of reference, you may have seen my other reviews, as I tour the State looking for the best “client shooting experience”. I’ve found it here at Foxhall.
I can’t write enough words here – you just need to go see and shoot.
From the moment you arrive on property, you can see this is the sporting club designed to impress. Originally an equestrian facility, they have added dozens of outdoor activities, and specifically shooting ! The lodge facilities and pavilions are a huge draw for events, and the five stand has it’s own pavilion!
The fifteen station sporting clays course is well designed, creative, and challenging. The shooting windows, benches and gun racks are top-shelf. Even the cart trails are meticulously laid-out.
At the lodge, the service is exceptional ! You won’t get more personal attention at the Ritz Carlton. They are planning to build a 350 key resort hotel and conference center next year. The resort is planned for 800 home sites.
The five stand is a pavilion like no other. You could host 100 business associates or friends under the cover, complete with seating, grilles, and amenities. Of course the presentations of clays are challenging and fun. There is also a wobble stand adjacent to the five stand, which makes for great entertainment !!
So all this luxury comes at a price, but it’s a pretty SMALL price. Clays are $0.55 each, and other places run about $0.35. I’ve taken three clients to shoot the sporting clays, and we did plenty of wobble. The all-in expense was $175 which is a lot less than three guests for golf at a comparable PGA course.
Take my word for it – this is the exclusive sporting club of choice.

I have been aware of this facility and wondered why it has not been reviewed on this site since it is so close to Atlanta. I had to check it out before an upcoming shoot on Jan 20th. My wife and I went to shoot yesterday and were remarkably impressed! It is actually an equestrian property and the clays (2 five stands, a wobble skeet, sporting) are one of several things to do at the “resort”.

The 15 station course is by far the best I have seen and is probably considered by all who shoot there to be what a sporting clays course should be. All the stations are covered with several elaborate wood decks at some stations. There are very good presentations throughout with the last two stations on the banks of a lake. The trail is paved and landscaped with nice stone wall accents along the way. There are a few brand new EZ –GO camouflage carts available, but unnecessary since the course is easy to walk. The layout is compact and well-designed with the first and the last stations only a short distance from the parking area. To get to the course, which is located at the far end of the 1,000+ acre property, the pleasant drive through the resort past the stable and around one of the lakes is an added value.

All the staff members we met went out of their way to help us. The course is open Tues-Sun which offers a couple additional days a week that most other courses don’t. The cost at $55 is comparatively expensive, but an excellent value, particularly if you walk and avoid the $30 cart rental. Also the new electronic pulling system can be set on delay so a shooter can go alone if necessary, which is a great option at Etowah Valley.

I plan to shoot there often, and I encourage everyone to check it out. Since it is only a few years old, let’s keep them busy so maybe in the near future they can add a second course.
