I am writing this brief review because no recent reviews have been written about this Club and persons not familiar with the Club might wonder about its current status. As a traveling shooter myself, I heavily rely on the reviews found in “Clay Targets on Line”. I am not a member of this Club but shoot it a couple times each year. It is a very old club that had earlier gone through some rough times. But I’m glad to announce that it has a new young and enthusiastic Owner/Manager who has brought the Club back to life. The Manager is a very accomplished shooter and understands how to properly set targets for all levels for of his customers.

The 15 station course has multiple traps at each station allowing for novice and advanced shooters to participate together creating their own chosen level of difficulty at each stand. The Club is actually located in the Everglades and the unusual environment reflects that fact. All equipment is in excellent working order. The targets can be described as fun, challenging, and fair. The final station is set up with many traps reminiscent of a 5 Stand. There are targets here that will challenge any and all customers.

I highly recommend this Club to anyone who is looking for a fun day at Sporting Clays. The course can be easily walked, but Carts in excellent condition are readily available if you so choose.

Great place to shoot. 1 course, 15 stations with 3 (sometimes 4) traps at each station. State of the art facility with great customer service. Rental carts are in good shape.

The course was set with a good mixture of soft to tournament level targets.

I highly recommend this club to anyone passing thru or around the Naples area.

6 of us shot here while vacationing with our family. Everything about this club is first rate, from the emails prior to our coming down to all the facilities and course. The targets were well laid out and having the choice at each station of difficult or novice targets was a nice bonus. We shoot local clubs wherever we are and this one rates up there as one of my favorites. If you are in the south Florida area you need to look this club up! Thanks Corey for a nice experience. Drove 80 miles today while on vacation to shoot and Internet says they’re open 9-4…show up to find a kid mowing the grass that says they’re closed Friday’s during the summer…he could have let me shoot the course but I guess that was asking too much. Driving back 80 miles now with Krieghoff still in the box…you guys really should get your crap together. I will NEVER be back.

Have shot at this club for many years, It is now under new management and is well run and maintained. If you shot there before and not happy, give it another try. The club is not open everyday so call before.

This is a great place to come shoot, and I come back once a year when I’m in town. I’m a beginner (3 yrs) shooter. On this visit I brought my Dad and a friend, both who haven’t shot a gun in twenty years. We had a great time on the trap field, where we could shoot and get comfortable with the guns and the game. The other visitors were very friendly, and we enjoyed making new acquaintances. I’m not a fan of the voice activated systems because you can’t socialize (much or loudly) and the birds start flying ! The clay system works from a token system. I’m use to the counter / honor key system, and it would still be my preference.
Overall, this is one of my favorite places to go. I hope they work to improve the technical / mechanical features and the customer service of the club without losing the quaint, friendly, and welcoming culture. This is the place I’d retire to !

Shot at this establishment for the past 12 years. Brought both my grandsons with me and for the most part enjoyed shooting here. I do think that the price per round for skeet is getting a bit high at $9.75. The dirt road is in pretty bad shape and in need of repair. I am also a bit disappointed that they did not offer reduced rates for youth shooters. Most kids could not afford the price charged here and it is always a good idea to promote the sport for the next generation.

This is a brilliant shooting ground which I visited while I was on holiday in Miami. The owner is very welcoming and the facilities are first class. I did 2 rounds of sporting clays and would call them moderate to difficult. If you want to enjoy the glades and shoot at the same time this is the place to go. I will definitely be going back there.

POI Gun Club offers Sporting Clays, Trap, and Skeet. It sits on 68 wild and beautiful acres, surrounded by the Eveglades National Park and Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve. The Club is only 20 miles Southeast of Downtown Naples on the historic Tamiami Trail.

Our Sporting Clays is a one of a kind course. It winds between woods and water. Don’t be surprised if you see deer, ducks, and gators while shooting under the shade of the local palms and oaks.

This course is reset and tweaked monthly to keep you on your toes and wanting more. Everyone can enjoy the challenge of shooting in completely natural surroundings.

I shoot skeet here every week but I shot Sporting Clays last Sunday with my son. He was visiting here from Kentucky and we both had a great time. No better way to get your mind off the daily grind.

Come enjoy some Clays in the Glades.

Wade Deal a friend of mine put together a group of shooters from our golf group that has played together for 10-12 years at Kensington. It is a great diversion from golf.

We have found the staff Paul, Dj, our lessons from Jack and Jim, and the facilities to all be first class. You are welcomed immediately. We will return again and again.

Thank you all from the Paradise group.

Shot the Course again for the 1st time maybe one year, From the 1st visit, DJ & Team have brought this Club and Clay Course back from the Dead! The Course and Targets (14 Stations) was Great!! New Release system, only 1-2 broken birds, well maintained, Great Lunch and all around just a great Spot!!!
Thanks for Great Time! will be back soon

This is the club for everyone. With skeet, trap, sporting clays, a five-stand facility, and a separate rifle and pistol range, there is something for all shooters to enjoy. DJ Gasaway has worked very hard to make the sporting clays course the nicest that is has ever been. Lunch is served regularly for a very low price and the people are the friendliest shooters I have ever shot with. If you are visiting Southwest Florida, love to shoot, and wish to meet some great people, stop in and enjoy all the the Port of the Islands Gun Club has to offer.

Well, I just now returned from a mid day trap shooting trip at the range. I have to say when I first arrived I was a little confused about where to go and who to speak with about shooting since the clubhouse wasn’t clearly marked. Luckily the people there were very friendly and pointed me in the right direction as to where to bone up the $9 per round fee. A little steep but it won’t break the budget to bad. I still consider myself a novice in all honesty when it comes to trap and skeet. Most of the shooters seemed to be regulars and or trap veterans, they were all very friendly and helpful explaining questions that I had. One of the employees “who’s name excapes me” was great with shooting tips and coaching. Overall I really wound up enjoying the place and the people and I do plan on returning on a regular basis. Oh yea they offered a ton of food also. My only advice would be to go mid day, the place seemed a bit crowded in the a.m., but one of the guys told me it thins out after noon. I guess after eating all that food everyone was ready for a nap after a long morning of blasting pottery.

Myself and a friend called the facility on Tuesday and again on Friday making sure our trip for a round of sporting clays planned for Saturday morning was going to eventuate. We were assured it would. On Saturday, as we got to the range after a 2-hour drive, we were told the course cannot be opened for only two shooters (we specifically stated there were two of us when calling-in earlier) but if we wished, we could indulge in skeet and trap to our hearts’ content. Disgusted, we left immediately and managed to make it to Markham Park for the noon round. Will not be back.

Great location. It is a great trap and skeet club, if you want to shoot clays or 5 stand take lots of shells, machines keep breaking down don’t know if it is because of recycled targets or just lack of maintenance.I end up going once or twice a year just because it is close to where I am staying.I really hope they get there act together.

I just wanted to say how great of a time I had at this gun club. My boyfriend and his father took his mother and I skeet shooting for the first time and I did pretty well! I actually hit quite a few of the targets! I think I’m addicted and can’t wait to go back. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and they make huge burgers that my father in law enjoyed! Thanks again! We’ll definitely be back!

I have been a member of this club for the past three years and have witnessed the tremendous hardships and wonderful transformations the club has undergone. I first came to the club to shoot sporting clays and shot a 8-9 station course with hand throwers at many of the stations. We suffered significant damage from Hurricane Dennis, followed by Hurricane Wilma. Our sporting clays course and club house suffered the most. Despite the damage, the members of the club came together to rebuild and improve the clubhouse (it is now air conditioned). Our sporting clays course has now grown to 13 stations, including a tower and automated machines. We are located in the swamp and will having flooding of our course from time to time, but the members of the club volunteer their time and effort to put on 1-2 registered sporting clays tournaments each month from October – May. The members of the club and the owner DJ Gasaway are constantly striving to improve our club and our sporting clays program. Port of the Islands has become a wonderful place to shoot sporting clays, skeet, trap, rifles & pistols and we hope you will join us.

Make sure to call before you come and ask questions like: “will the sporting clays range be open and operational?” I was one of several visiting clay shooters who called, was told they were open for SC then drove several hours to find that the range was closed, the traps were not even set out for the scheduled shoot the next day. No one seemed to care. Great if you are a trap or skeet shooter but for clays go to a place that is known for SC. I hate to leave a negative report but save your time and money, as a SC course this place needs to get it together.

Very nice place its way out but worth the trip. Very relaxing place. They usually serve lunch hot dogs hamburgers. Very cheap. Good if you are a single shooter. Don’t worry its easy to find someone to shoot with.

Facilities were good & planning to expand/upgrade. Very friendly in the office, as well as their members. Rates are reasonable. Had a great time & plan to visit here next year.

5 combo fields – 4 trap & skeet, 1 trap, skeet and 5 stand. Also has a 10 and 13 station SC. The SC is shut down in the summer due to mosquitos (I was there in summer so did not shoot it). 5 stand was exceptionally challenging and fun with 9 throwers.

Everybody was friendly, call first to verify hours as they change depending on the time of year.
