This place was great. I came with my wife, bro in law and nephew to shoot skeet. The attendant, who’s name escapes me, could not have been nicer. The faciliy is very old but clean and well maintained. My experience is that as a one time guest, sometimes you are a very low priority and often have to wait a long time before you get a chance to shoot. We were rotated in and shot 3 rounds with only 15-20 minute waits inbetween. My only issue was I had my 13 yr old daughter who likes to pull for me when i shoot. She is sensitive to cigarette smoke in the clubhouse. I recommend having smokers smoke outside. Not a big deal to me, just a thought. Thanks

It is unfortunate that we have received several negative reviews. Those are from previous years. As of 12/13 we have a new and dedicated staff running the ranges. All I can ask is that those who had a bad experience give us a second chance. If you have an issue please e-mail me directly. jmgaynor@att.net

I called this club asking about skeet shooting. I was told that I could come by and shoot as a non-member, but the cost would be $1 extra per round. When I arrived and asked to shoot skeet, I was told that I was required to be a member, or be with a member. I informed the gentleman that I was provided with contradictory information that morning. The response was “Well you didn’t talk to me, and I run the skeet here.” No other information as far the membership process or fees was provided voluntarily. He acted as though I was wasting his time and they didn’t care to have any more members. There are much better, more welcoming gun clubs in the area.

When I travel on business I enjoy shooting at different clubs around the USA. On a recent trip I had the opportunity to visit Holmesburg F&G hoping to get a couple of rounds of Skeet in. What a disaster! The range manager was no where to be found, the members were not gracious or inviting to guests. The words that best describe this club would be; closed, uninviting, good old boy personal club (outsiders will be ignored and made to feel like an intrusion). I have shot clays (Skeet, 5 Stand, SC) @ hundreds of public & private clubs big and small, and have never experienced anything so negative ever. Please remove the listing of public for this range as it is definitely private by nature.

As a 40-year member and elected club officer at Holmesburg Fish & Game, I write to inform the shooting community that we have added 5-Stand to our repertoire of shooting sports. Shooters should call the clubhouse or check our website to see when 5-Stand is in operation. The adverse review below is simply erroneous. Non-members are welcome without member accompaniment for Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand.

I think Holmesburg is a nice club. I’m a jr. Member. I shoot skeet every week and the other members taught me a lot of helpful stuff. So if you are looking for a nice shooting range come to Holmesburg.

I am a junior member for this club and have been going there twice a week for the past year. It is a great place to learn to shoot rifles and shotguns and handguns as well. They are very good nice and helpful trainers to get you started. There is not much to say they have a nice club house its just a good place to start.

Very nice scenic club to shoot at..over the delaware river. Guests must be accompanied by a club member unfortunately the club member my friend and I had with us last year was very critical to beginner shooters, to the point of being disrespectful and rude, almost as if we were wasting his time. Very unfortunate.
