Nice clean friendly place Shells were available for all gauges. 13 station course with two different shooting stands at each station. Course is almost all in the woods with a huge variety of terrain. Very nice variety of targets standard, battue, rabbits with a couple of tower shots. A lot of very nice looking fields for live bird hunts which I normally don’t do but did get my interest a bit. Probably had 30 people out bird hunting when I was there. I will be back as I enjoyed the small club atmosphere and the owners

On a recent shooting trip through central N.C. I had the privilege of shooting Hunting Creek with several of its Members. They and the friendly staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The course is in a lovely wooded environment with very interesting topography making for some excellent target presentations. It was a fun day. I will certainly return to this course the next time I am in the area.

One of the outstanding sporting clays courses in North Carolina. From the time you arrive you are treated to true southern hospitality by a family of some of the most informative interesting people you will ever meet. If you are fortunate to sample some of their food, persimmon pie is world class. I look forward to my return,

Excellent place !!!! Shot my first round of sporting clays here last Oct.
liked it so much I became a member. Really can’t say enough good things about the folks there. As someone stated before the course is challenging and lots of fun. It’s well worth your time to visit here.

Fabulous place to shoot Sporting Clays! Challenging but fun course with reasonable prices. There are 13 stations with all sorts of presentations. About half of the stations are in a wooded area with interesting terrain changes. They also have a tower with overhead presentations. Overall a beautiful course and friendly people. Buck, Richard, and Ralph all make you feel at home. We liked the course and people so much we joined last year and we’ll be extending our membership again this year. Highly recommend you stop in for a round of Sporting Clays or Skeet.

Great place, fine folks, challenging targets, good food! I met there at 09:00 in Thursday morning, for the sporting clays free for all. Great fellowship, fun folks, great ribbing and yaking.
I had a wonderful time. Golf cart was $10 and split two ways was only $5, wonderful!!
Thanks Mike

I am new to skeet/sporting clays but have quickly become obsessed with it. The guys at Hunting Creek (Ralph, Richard, and Buck) have done nothing but encourage me and feed my addiction. The staff is great and have made me feel very welcome from the first visit. I have shot sporting clays (great course that is partially wooded, some tower shots), a few rounds of skeet, and practiced on their Huntsman machine. Easy going fellas who will chat with you all day if time permits. We loved it so much that 12 of us got together and got a group membership (saves you roughly $10/round of sporting clays). There is a large “lodge” where there is a TV, tables, couches, and snacks/drinks/ice cream for purchase. They even do cookouts, though I’ve never been part of any of those — the food does smell great though. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. I shoot with people who have never shot a gun as well as people who shoot competitively. Everyone loves it! A+

The shooting was amazing and supporting a true American business makes it worth it. Clays were fun and the hospitality was amazing. A fun challenging set of rounds within wooded beautiful country makes a visit worth it. A great place to bring work buddies or executives wanting to have a thrill. Also a great way to see if that future son in law is all talk or can muster the skill needed to nail a few clays!

This is what a Sporting Clays venue should be! Everything from the target presentations to the reliability of the trap machines and the helpfulness of the staff is spot on. I have shot courses all over the country and this club is the equal of any. Have recommended this course to friends from SC and VA and all have given it top marks. Everyone of them has commented on how well they were treated by the staff. Put this on your list of places to shoot.

Was looking for a nice sports clay course somewhere within reasonable distance of Charlotte and figured I’d give this one a try. 13 stations, fantastic helpful staff, and great prices mean I’ll be back (today in fact!) The equipment was top notch and the course is absolutely beautiful to walk. (or if you prefer… drive a cart)
I’m not a hard core shooter but I can see this being my go-to place for sport clays.

I had called the previous week, and the manager informed me that on Thursday’s several members start at 10:00, and I could probably hook up with them, and they serve lunch at noon.
What a great club. The club manager was very friendly, as were all the members I met. The members of this club is what makes sporting clays so great – really friendly Southern hospitality. The 13 stations were well set and I think most shooters would find a good challenge. All the traps worked and were full. They have a real nice tower throwing some good overhead targets. On a real hot July day, most of the course is in the woods and you can shoot in the shade. Great value, great hospitality – would do it again if I get back this way. Also the food was great and inexpensive – it appears the entire neighborhood stops by for lunch. Thanks to the members who made the visit a real pleasure.

I was looking for a place to shoot one Monday when a lot of facilities are closed. I reached Richard Renegar one of the owners on the phone. He said they were closed but he would be happy to meet my friend and I so we could shoot. We arrived to find a beautiful lodge – wonderful fireplace, flat screen TV, large sofas, interesting decor, soda and ice cream machines, and a store with plenty of handgun, rifle, and shotgun ammo fairly priced (I bought some .380 pistol cartridges). Richard helped us get signed in and took us out to “the huntsman” – 3 wobble traps mounted together. My friend and I shot 75 rounds each with Richard trapping for us – and he made us feel very comfortable and having a good time. We said we were getting a little tired so Richard fired up the Gator and took us for a tour of the property – showing us the skeet area, sporting clays course, and pistol range. We probably had more fun on the tour than shooting.
The following Saturday, we returned to shoot sporting clays for the first time. The course’s 13 stations presented a range of challenges, from simple to (for us) impossible, and the setting was absolutely beautiful. Even when we were missing (which was often), we had a great time. After our first go-around, I stopped back in the lodge and asked the manager, Buck, for some tips on how to shoot some of the high targets, which he happily offered. As I was contemplating a snack, Ralph Renegar told me they were cooking lunch for a Boy Scout troop that was on the skeet range and invited my friend and I to join them. After we were done shooting, we sat down with Ralph and his wife and had some tasty hotdogs, homemade peach cobbler, and fun conversation.
Can’t wait to go back.

Richard/Ralph – thank you very much for your warm hospitality and kindness during our recent visit to your facility. My 14 year old son Conrad and I had a great time. You have a beautiful property and the sporting clay stations were awesome. I would highly recommend that anyone who is within an hour or two of your property take the time to visit and shoot. It was a great experience and one we will definitely do again the next time we are down to visit our girls at ASU. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.
