I’d go here more often if they were open more than 3 days a week. But, it’s a member-run club, so I get that they can’t be there all the time. And for the office slaves (I know, I was one for 20 years), Sat, Sun, + Weds is fine.
The whole place is very well maintained. The SC course is just a little path through the woods, but has 14 stations and interesting targets. Every time I’ve been there, the members have been real friendly and welcoming. And they’ll cook you up a burger if you show up around lunchtime.
Prices are a little high for non-members, but fair. Member prices are quite reasonable. Very convenient for most of the Louisville area or if you’re doing the Bourbon trail.

While visiting the Louisville area I ended up spending an enjoyable afternoon at the Jefferson Gun Club. The volunteers that run this club were all very welcoming, hospitable, and helpful. Their “Quick 50” sporting clays course is fun. Skeet and trap ranges were quite nice also. I will definitely visit again when traveling through. Check it out if you are in the area.

Shot skeet on a Sunday morning. Great facility and people. Will do it again when traveling in the area. The shooting is as good as the Bourbon.

Visited the club this spring after a layoff of 15 years. Walked in, was greeted by Mark Durbin, and explained my desire “to get back into shooting”. He suggested I join one of their shooting leagues…sounded like a good idea to me, I said !! Well, he says, let me introduce you to your captain, Mike Shepherd (sp?). We jump in a cart, buzz out to a field, am introduced to Mike, who welcomes me on his team, warmly. In 15 minutes I’m signed up for a league, meet two good guys in the club and walk out of there feeling great. They never asked me how well I shot; they just seemed happy to have me on board….my team members have been great and welcomed me the same way.
I’ve had a great time there so far and highly recommend it to the novice or never miss guy/old or young/male or female. Go out there some Sat or Sun and you’ll probably get the same greeting I got. So far they have been a fine bunch of guys (and a gal on my team). I may join the Club (there has absolutely no pressure to join).
The facilities are clean, neat and the members seem to take pride in keeping everything in order.

I visited the range with my 14 year old nephew so he could shoot a recently inherited shotgun. The Bernheim chapter of the NWTF was holding a shoot with disabled and handicapped shooters. It was great. We shot with some 4H members and everyone made us feel welcome. It had been about ten years since I had shot there when my own boys were about the same age. The range was nice and prices are very reasonable.

My brother and I came through Louisville and shot at this club. There was a really friendly atmosphere, good fields, good equipment. I really felt welcomed and made it a point to go three times to the club before leaving town.

I started going here a few months ago. The club is nice and has good hours (very convenient). Staff is friendly and prices are good if you are a member, a little high if you aren’t, but they are still fair. Lots of fields, never have to wait to shoot. The sporting clays field is so/so aesthetically, fine for challenge.
