Nice facility with a clubhouse and 12 traps; however…
This club is under new management, and they increased the prices within the past week. Non-members: $9.00 per round of trap or skeet (i.e. 25 targets). Members: $6.50/round. This kind of pricing will eventually kill the club (and possibly the sport) because young shooters cannot afford these prices.

I recently visited the KCTA to decide whether to join the club. After 2 visits I am hooked. Lynn and his wife Karen have been nothing but generous with their time and information. I understand Lynn will be taking on a National role in Illinois in April or May and yet he was more than willing to help a novice begin in the sport. I would recommend the KCTA to any one wanting to begin in the sport.

My wife and I recently took up trap shooting, along with another couple. The club manager, Lynn Gipson, went out of his way to make us feel welcome and get started in the sport. Our wives were initially somewhat nervous, not wanting to embarrass themselves. Lynn took the time to take us all out to a trap field, and gave us personal instruction to get us going. He certainly did not have to do that, and it was much appreciated. His prices in the well stocked pro shop are very competitive. We have also found that the “regulars” at the club are very friendly, and willing to help new shooters. Lynn runs a first class facility, and we intend to get involved in the fall leagues.

In the area visiting family and went out for some trap. Very nice club, beautiful clubhouse, good pro shop. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Directions on this listing were very accurate.

We were all excited about having a Trap club in our backyard just to find out KCTA does not have Sporting Clays; they do have Skeet and Trap. The staff was standoffish and the manager, Lynn Gipson, was not very helpful or friendly.
