Someone at work encouraged me to bring my 12 and 14 y/o boys to the club for youth trap Saturdays at noon. New to CA, the boys were excited we found somewhere to hopefully join. I read the website and tried calling before we left this morning but no one answered … so we left from Poway in-time to get there by noon. Unfortunately, my Garmin took us 7 miles down Sequan Truck Trail to two locked gates. After that 14 mile off-road U-turn, our 1.5 hr journey brought us to the club where a young chap named Zach who (instead of returning my pleasant “Hello!”) snapped “We’re Done.” I said “Oh, I thought the website said Noon to 5:00 pm?” Zach snapped … “You should have gotten here at Noon like you were supposed to!” Bewildered by this treatment, I paused to appropriately sort and frame my responses until another parent stepped forward, apologized for the treatment, and acknowledged the website is indeed wrong. I will spare everyone my rant and simply end with “Thank you Lemon Grove Rob & Gun for so warmly welcoming me to CA and my sons to the sport you are so effectively helping to vanish.”

This club shoots sporting clays once a month, marshalling the members to set up the course. The course is fun, and has some challenge to it no doubt. It is crowded too. We got there at 8:30 am, and had to wait an hour to get a slot.. so be early if you want to shoot. They have a good website, so check it out. I would recommend it if you you are in the area.
