My wife Lynn and I had a great time shooting the Maui trap club this week. Art was a gracious host and had all the necessary items available to us for shooting. Even though it was a rainy day, we had a fun time shooting. Thanks Art and if ever you are in Missouri, come visit us at the Missouti Trapshooters Club at Lake of the Ozarks.

This great little club is our home away from home. Art got me and my son started about 4 years ago. Now we compete and shoot trap everywhere. Art is a great and patience instructor. Aloha spirit that you can feel and experience first hand.

This place is awesome, my whole family has enjoyed or trips here. My son always is asking to go. I work on Sunday’s so it is hard to make it but I will be taking a day off soon to take him and my wife. They have great instruction and very good guns and the prices are very reasonable.

I took a couple of new shooters last November to the club. They are great with new shooters. Got a call today 3/5/15. They want me to take them back. How cool is that?

Art is a wonderful host and the local shooters are very welcoming. Kind of hard to find but a true bargain in a place where you expect to pay thru the nose everywhere. Art raises ducks and chickens on site and it’s truly a hoot to have a parade of ducks march between you and the traphouse in the middle of a round.

We visited back in February, 2014. Had a great time with Art and his friendly style and challenging target setting ideas. The staff and other shooters were also very friendly. Was a highlight for us on this trip and we intend to make it a regular stop in the future. Wish you well on your hosting the State championship this summer.

Regular visitor over last 15 years. Am a ATA/PITA competitive shooter, but shoot MT&GC for fun and recreation. MT&GC is challenging and fun to try and hit clay targets; it’s “sporting trap”, especially the doubles targets. The members and owner (Art) are great people. If you want to see “aloha spirit” at a trap club, visit MT&GC for the fun and fellowship.

Was just there again during the end of March and had a great time with Art and the local Maui shooters at his monthly tournament. It’s a must go to club where you will always feel welcome. Just a short drive away your other half can visit the local towns while you shoot. It’s one of the most affordable things to do on Maui. Art can set some interesting targets with his terrain he has. I wish he was a little closer to my house.

I shot Sporting Clays with Art and his group on 10/2/10. Art sets out a unique course. The targets are fair and tough with varying terrain. The group I shot with were friendly and welcomed me in. While my shooting was off, I enjoyed my time on the course. This is a MUST DO if you are in Maui.

Hi, I’m Art’s partner. I just want to clarify: the google map shows us out in the middle of the cane field, but we’re located a little west of the pointer, in the gulch that intersects Haliimaile Road. The mailbox 499 is on the mountain side, driveway on ocean side. Thanks for all the great reviews, Art really is THE BEST!!

I stopped in on a Wed while visiting the island and had a very enjoyable evening. As mentioned in previous reviews the people running the show are very friendly. There isn’t much more I can say that has not already been written up. I will make it a point to visit again.

I took my nephew who had not had much experience with shotgunning. Art could not have been more helpful. We rented a Browning 525 and a great time. The setting is fantastic. To shoot over that valley is an incredible experience. I wear my MT&GC t-shirt to make my shooting buddies green with envy.

I visited The Maui Trap and Gun Club during our annual visit to Maui on march 2, 2008.
I’m starting to shoot after a 40 year layoff. Art, made me very comfortable and walked me through the roapes at this club. I only shot 50 rounds and rented all the safety equipment and 2 different guns.
I have shot at many fine clubs on the main land and rank my experience at the Maui Trap & Gun Club with all the best.
We return to Maui every year for up to a month, and next year I will bring my gun and spend more time shooting with Art Shepard and the friendly bunch of shooters I met.
Thank you Art!

My wife and I spent a week in Maui this February (2008) and we stopped at the Maui Trap Club in Haliimaile. I only had time to shoot a round of 50, but the experience was well worth it. First of all, Art Sheperd and his wife were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home. I was able to rent a BT-100 and a vest for a grand total of $5.00 (which wouldn’t even cover the tip for lunch at most places on the island). If you ever want to shoot a round of trap at a friendly club in paradise, be sure to stop and visit the Sheperd’s at the Maui Trap Club.

Fantastic, excellent. good value, friendly, affordable, not sure if we can put into writing the experience we had at the Maui Trap and Gun Club, and they did not pay us to say all this stuff !!! On a recent visit to Maui we had done all the normal stuff, driven everywhere, snorkel dive, sailing, Luau, road to Hana, swimming, we had heard about the Maui Trap Club from the claytargetonline web site, and the reference to Art Sheperd and how personable he is, as far as we are concerned that is an understatement, he was extremely personable, patient, understanding and accommodating. From our initial phone call we felt very comfortable and from our arrival until we left the whole experience was memorable, do you get the point yet? We really enjoyed our visit, the instruction, the equipment and the time that was taken to make sure our visit was the best it could possible be, was outstanding, we have traveled extensively throughout the world and have done many things, however it had been some time since my wife and I had done any kind of trap/sporting clay shooting, so we were unsure as to the format and latest protocols of the sport, Art was the best, he stepped us (our daughter of 15 yrs and our son 12years old, lest we forget my wife who has not fired a shotgun in 20years) through all the necessary safety and equipment details smoothly and easily, he prepared us for the firing line and we had some great competition between us. We had one of the most enjoyable couple of hours we have had as a family, we never felt unsafe, or unprepared, the jackets, shotguns and safety equipment we great and the cost was extremely reasonable, if you are looking for something to do on Maui, THIS IS THE PLACE, it gets our vote for “Maui’s Best Kept Secret” pay Art a visit next time you are on the Island, we will be going back that’s for sure……lest we forget John L. Sullivan, who also was a great person to be around, we had forgotten our camera, so John(who is a member of the club, and was just there to practice for the Nationals)ran back to his car and brought his own camera and took some pictures of the family and emailed them to us, now that’s a club that I want to be a member of, so do not forget, next time you are on the island of Maui, check out its best kept secret, the Maui Trap and Gun Club

Maui Trap is one of my favorite clubs to attend twice each year because Art and the gang do everything they can to make visitors have an enjoyable time while on Maui. Rain or shine you can’t go wrong at this club. Bill

A fun club. Art Shepard, the Mgr.,is very nice to visitors. Casual competition. Not fancy, just fun and welcoming. Plus it’s 300 yards from one of Maui’s best restaurants, The Haliimaile General Store! Plan on revisiting BOTH on my next trip to Maui.
