Took my son and his friend here for the first time today. We usually shoot at Thunder Mountain in Ringwood, but gave this club a try today. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The gentleman working the desk was extremely friendly and made us feel like we were part of the club.

There are five trap fields, and a small clubhouse with bathrooms, vending machines, and a sitting area with TV. The field is very clean with reliable throwing equipment. The members do a great job at maintaining the facility. Much more convenient than driving all the way up to Ringwood. I was so impressed with the place that I am going to join the club. Non-members pay $7 per round, and members pay just $4. You must bring your own guns and ammo, and need to pick up your shells after shooting.

Give this place a try! You will definitely like it.

This was my first visit to the Club. Although it was a busy Sunday morning (Turkey Shoot). Glen at the desk treated me like a member and arranged for a volunteer to introduce me to the practice range. Artie the volunteer was very informative and a I walked away with a wealth of knowledge. Great organized establishment. Will definitely return.

Having shot at trap ranges all over the north east, this is hands down one of the best clubs for several reasons. The set up and backdrop of the ranges are very nice. I have never had to wait very long to jump in with a group when I arrive. Finally and most importantly the people working at, managing and shooting at the club have always been welcoming and helpful. On my first visit, I was shown where to go and really treated like a regular. As long as you are polite, respectful and safe you will be treated with the same courtesy. I moved to NJ about a year ago and will continue shooting here as long as I live close by.

I am an amateur shooter that joined in 2011. For “newbies”, mid week or afternoons on the weekend are the times to go. Saturday and Sunday mornings are crowded with hard core shooters who demand proper trap etiquette on the line.

Everyone is generally friendly and helpful. Trap fees are very reasonable. You must provide your own gun and ammo. Voice activated traps are great!

I have been coming to this club to shoot trap for over 5 years. This is a great place to shoot, meet new friends and have a snack. There are usually shooters from all ages and willing to help novice and younger people. Although I moved to Westchester, NY from Montville, NJ, I still come her to shoot with my brother Mark who lives in East Hanover, NJ. The 45 minute drive is well worth the trip.

The best place in northern new jersey to shoot. The membership fee is acceptable and you can’t beat the price for a round of trap. It’s the only bargain in new jersey. you can also get a few laughs when ol’guys talk about politics.

Visited twice during business trip, and hope to shoot there again.

Lots of very serious and competitive regulars of all shapes, sizes and ethnic origins. If you know trap shooting/ATA etiquette you’ll have no problem fitting in at the 16 yard line. The serious shooters can be intimidating to new shooters who think they can shoot caps 25+ — but this is no different than any other club.

Open to dusk 3 days a week. All stations have baskets where you can toss your hulls and this simple idea keeps the place orderly. Run by members. $7 for visitors/non-members.

I have been going here for the last four weeks. I just started trap shooting again after many years and find this range as excellent.
The men running the range are great to talk to and after going a few times they welcome you as if you were a member. The range is clean and well kept. The voice activated traps are easy to use and there is four trap house to use. If you need some instruction you will find someone willing to help, and if just want to shoot I was able to join in with club members and with respect you will receive the same.
I bring my son and he enjoys it as well. A must visit site and lets keep places like this open so we all can enjoy our shooting sports.

I really like this place. Guys who run the place are what you would expect– a bunch of cranky old men who have been doing this forever. They’re a fun bunch, if not a little rough– and after you get to know them they’re actually quite endearing. It’s a well maintained trap range with modern voice activated throwing equipment.

The only criticism I would have is that there is low tolerance amongst some of the regular shooters there for the ‘non-professionals.’ If you’re there simply to have a fun day of shooting, just be aware that you’ll probably have to set some boundaries with some of the ‘pros’ and respectfully let them know that you don’t really want their advice. On the other hand, if you want to become a full-fledged trap-shooting professional and are looking for a place where everyone knows everything about the sport, this is your place.

I’ll continue to go there as long as they stay open. All in all a great value and good shooting experience.

I love this place! I went there on a whim one day, it was a real informal shoot, and I had a lot of fun. The guys I shot with know how to shoot, and that makes it a lot of fun. I plan on joining this club, as the staff is very helpful. Its a lot of fun to hang on the deck in between shoots too! Highly recommended!

Great place! About an hour from Dobbs Ferry, NY. We went yesterday to shoot registered ATA traps. The fields well-kept and everyone was friendly and helpful. After we shot, we sat on the porch and watched for awhile. Apparently ladies eat free, so I had a custom made sandwich served by a very congenial club member! What could be better. I really enjoyed it and we liked it so much, we’re going back today.

Greatest place to shoot in the North Jersey/New York metropolitan area. Home of the New Jersey Northern Zone shoot as well as several charity functions each year. ATA registered targets every weekend. Great friendly membership and hard working club officers. Club is run by various club members on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Saturday and Sunday the club is run by club managers. The club kitchen is currently open on Sundays only.

After reading Fred A’s review, I was a bit apprehensive about driving out to this range.
I’m thinking maybe he is posting a review of some other range.
After two visits to this range, I will say that the staff, as well as the members were very friendly and helpful. I was made to feel right at home from the minute I arrived.
The range ordered lunch and had some extra pizza which I was offered to partake in. My car got stuck in the snow as I was leaving, 2 people stepped up and helped push me out. I think I even found myself a new landscaper 🙂
Old boys club? Not even close. Great range, great people. I will be visiting often!

Had a great time at this facility. People and staff were friendly and helpful. Went with my son and they provided us a very nice experienced shooter to instruct on range rules and shooting techniques. We will definitely be back.

Came looking for a place to shoot trap after the Union County range was shut down little more than a year ago. Was a little intimidated at first because the layout and care of the grounds of the place was so very much superior compared to Union County and the level of shooter ability was like-wise superior. The people there are very friendly and have offered very useful advice. The people that run the place are absolutely excellent! I kept coming back and as a result I joined the club last year and became a lifetime member of the ATA! Man, this place is wonderful! I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Waited 2 hrs and they would not permit me to shoot. It is a old boy network. There was no one behind the counter. I asked for the person who is running the place. I was directed to a person who was working as the trap person (pulling targets). He told me to wait. His friends arrived after me, they were permitted to shoot. I waited with my gun and ammunition in plain view. After 2 hours of this, I gave up, and left. A couple a weeks later, I returned, to give the place another try. The same thing happened. This place is very poorly run with no concern for the general public. If this place is on public property, it should be shut down, and perhaps a tennis court should be built. By the way, I am a ATA member.

Great place! I took three girls there, who have never shot before, and the club went out of their way to accomodate us and teach the girls how to shoot. They wouldn’t even accept a tip. Very friendly and nice grounds.

First time out shooting trap was at Fairfield. Guy running the operation that day spent about an hour explaining all of the basics. Very impressed with the time he took with us. Not sure if this is everyone but I’ve been back again and found everyone was happy to help a beginner.
