The owner, Dave, is a great guy. He is friendly and helpful. He sells ammo and reloading supplies. Prices for shooting and supplies are lower than I’ve seen anywhere. The atmosphere at this club is calm and laid back. No hurried hustle and bustle here. There is almost never a wait your turn to shoot. It’s all relaxing fun. Go visit Oakwood Gun Club. You’ll be glad you did.

Great place to shoot!!! There is no clubhouse to speak of, but if you want to do a full days worth of shooting, this is the place to go.. This is my second time to this range, and it was nice to see they have moved the throwers to different positions so you do not get tired of the same ole stations, they mix it up,,, which is nice.. If you run out of ammo, this is the place to stock up!! Their prices are great, it’s nice to see a place who doesn’t try robbing their members/guests and take advantage of the position they’re in.. Nothing fancy, just a great place to shoot at!

Oakwood Gun Club offers all varieties of shot gunning. Whether it is Trap, Skeet or Sporting Clays you will find it at this well operated facility. Dave, the club manager, rotates the sporting clay stations so they never get boring or stale. There are a variety of easier stations mixed in with more difficult stations, which bode well for both new and seasoned shooters. Oakwood Gun Club sponsors one of the largest Ducks Unlimited Shoots in the state. The DU shoot includes 100 target round of sporting clays and more fun shoot events than you can imagine. Not to mention prizes, raffles and great food. It is a very fun filled day. I shot at Oakwood quite often when I was working in Northwest Indiana. I retired to Bloomington, and came back to work in the area again. I have been to Oakwood three times in the past year and will continue to enjoy this fine facility until I head back south.

Ten station sporting clays course is a recent addition to this trap & skeet range. Great terrain – bring the golf cart for this one! Each station has one manual and one electic trap, making for good variety.
Well-equipped pro shop – lots of supplies for the reloader.
Had a great time.

Oakwood Gun Club has many of the attributes that clay shooters are looking for. If Sporting Clays is your game Oakwood offers a nice course that isn’t too tough, but yet offers a level of challenge that will keep you interested.
Recently a skeet range was installed, and it can be enjoyed by all of those who are looking to shoot 100 straight–in every gauge–or those who are tuning up for the upland bird or waterfowl seasons.
Trap is the big ticket at Oakwood, and the club offers leauge shooting, and is host to registered trap shoots as well.
Additionally Oakwood offers a full line of ammo and shooting products on site, and course and range fees won’t bust your wallet.
If you’re looking for a gun club that has a lot to offer in Northwest Indiana (just southeast of Chicago) then “come on down” because Oakwood is for you!
