This is a relatively new member only club located south of Hattiesburg. The owner, Omar El Aazami is an experienced Club Manager and an accomplished tournament shooter, with membership on the All American Team. The targets reflect his experienced background. The Club has 2 courses. The first course is set up for Intermediate shooters with targets that are somewhat soft when shot as singles – thus perfect for a beginner – but which get more challenging when shot as Reports, and stepping up again in difficulty when shot as True Pairs. Thus, a versatile course that will appeal to a wide range of shooters.
The second course is much more challenging, with singles that are appropriate for the Intermediate shooter who is attempting to advance his skills. The Report Pairs are both challenging and fun for the more advanced shooter. True Pairs on this course are all you can handle, while at the same time maintaining the criteria of being “fun”. I had to go back and shoot this course a second time – I loved it. A wide variety of targets were thrown that will test your abilities on all types of presentations.
There is a new, unusually large, 10,000 sq ft Club House that will accommodate a very large group for either private outings or large NSCA shoots. There are several rooms that can be rented for overnight stays. In addition to the 2 Clay courses, there is also a covered 5 Stand. The Club, being new, has a few raw edges because it had to be cut out of an existing 400 acre pine forest. But as the grounds evolve and mature, this Club has potential for being an outstanding facility. Omar says the Club is only in its initial phase with many more developments to follow. South Mississippi is indeed fortunate to have this new Club established in the area.
