the people are great, facilities are not the greatest but its the only place I’ve shot trap so I don’t know any better. Gets expensive for a high schooler but I love me some trap and its the closest clay range to Orange county.

I shot a few rounds of trap at Prado Olympic Shooting Park in February, 2020. It appears to be a county-owned facility operated by a concessionaire. Frankly, the facility is pretty dismal and run-down. There’s no pride of ownership on the part of the county and little on the part of the concessionaire – it’s littered and unkempt and the equipment is pretty funky. It’s the only shooting facility around, so I guess they can get away with that. The staff person in the pro shop was friendly and nice, but the guys who worked outside were impossible to tell from the clients. At $9 per round for trap, it’s a premium price for a facility that doesn’t live up to it. Really, the county should be ashamed to have allowed a facility built for Olympic competition to deteriorate to this extent.

I wanted to do something new & fun to entertain the fathers in our family on Fathers Day. I was introduced to clay shooting a few weeks prior and decided this would be the activity for the day. I found Prado Olympic Shooting Park which is closer to home. I informed the family of the plan for the day. Everyone was excited to do this activity especially the dads because it was all about them. I have never seen so much excitement in grown men. We the wives & kids got a kick out of them enjoying their day. We had the best time ever. The park is well maintained. The instructors are well informed and patient. This has become a past time favorite for my family. We have returned a few times since the big day.

I have been to several shooting clubs in the area and this one is by far the best. Easy to get to and all shooting areas open to the general public. Even after the flood it’s still a great place to shoot, glad they were able to dig out and get going again.

    This is one fine facility!
I visited a few times before taking my son-in-law for his first shotgun shooting experience. Of course we had a great time.
The stations could be more clearly marked, but the targets were good and consistent, the clubhouse warm and inviting, and no urban sights/sounds to distract.
I like the use of tokens to start the skeet traps. Other places use credit-card systems.
I look forward to visiting again later this week.
If you like skeet, trap, 5-stand, sporting clays, etc. you’ll love this place!

I recently attended a fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors of Camp Pendelton at the Prado Olympic Shooting Park. I had never really had the opportunity to shoot a shotgun at all in my entire life of 48yrs. My partners helped me with the gun aspects to ensure I didn’t hurt anyone (I managed that, unlike our current Vice President) and I asked one of the employees for a shooting tip. He gave me some advice that I followed. I managed a 50% hit rate by the time we ended our day and had a great time. (for someone who does not shoot, I had a wonderful time) The park is designed well for its purpose but could use a little work. I will attend again!

I have been going to this facility for over 15 years. Very friendly, comfortable place to shoot trap or skeet. Far away from traffic and noise, but close enough to drive from Riverside or Orange County. This is a place that local shooters and hunters come to just shoot clays. And you cant beat it, 6 bucks for 25 shots. As far as the review previously posted, if you’re looking for perfectly trimmed hedges a red carpet, and someone to make you a martini, maybe you should go to the four seasons instead.

I went here thinking it would be a fairly nice facility. It was not quite what I was expecting.

    1. Grass over-grown
    2. The center stake so short, the grass covered it up
    3. The pads have sunk after years of use
    4. Over-all, just not very well maintained.

But, what the heck, it threw targets to shoot at and is only place to shoot close to Yorba Linda.
