This facilty has been one of the premier sporting clay courses in Missouri for years. The recent transfer of ownership from the Pickets to the Kirk Powell family has been smooth and seemless in terms of providing great targets and customer service. Targets are changed on a regular basis and the stands have been rewired to be even more user friendly. The club now has a “delay box” available for the lone shooter that would like a simple means to release targets on a three second delay, report or true pairs. Works great! A great family owned business!

just completed the River Hills Classic for 2010 under some real adverse weather conditions. The staff and management of River Hills took it all in stride to host great shoot regardless of the conditions. All of us the attended from central Iowa appreciated an outstanding effort to make RHC an great event again this year. They know how to make it happen.

My son’s fraternity at Mizzou had a “Father’s Weekend” a couple of wees ago and a visit to River Hills was included. It was easy to find, just 5 minutes off Interstate 70 and sits in a wooded meadow type of setting….beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. We didn’t have shotguns and they had them to use. Not having shot a gun in many years, I was a little apprehensive. But a short safety/training course before we went out put my fears to rest. The shooting clays course (7 stations) is great….no two stations are alike. It was great fun and we all had a blast (pardon the pun). We will be coming back soon…and often.

I was out at River Hills my first time a few weeks ago. I am a student at U of M and don’t have any of my own firearms here. They let me borrow a range gun and my parents and I went out and shot around. It was a great time the sporting clays course is unique and entertaining, and the staff is helpful and courteous. All in all a great facility.

My wife and i are new to sporting clays. We arrived here with a friend and had an excellent time. The personal service is outstanding, with a very friendly staff. The shooting sites are high quality. It is going to be a regular event for us both from now on.

I am a new resident of Columbia and was looking for a place to do some casual sporting clays. I was pleasantly amazed at the friendship and wonderful welcome I was given. Also, since I am a novice shooter, the personal instruction and hints were greatly appreciated. My time schedule only allows me to shoot early in the day and they always worked me in even though I showed up as a single shooter. The place is pristine and beautifully groomed I highly recommend River Hills.

Located about half way between Kansas City and St Louis turn North at Exit 111 on I-70. Five minutes to the club.
Barbara and Kevin operate a friendly and well run place to shoot. Food and a Pro Shop with reasonable prices are located in the club house.
In addition to normal hours of operation, registed shoots thoughout the year and The Missouri River Classic in May each year.
The Sporting Clays course offers a wide variety of targets.
The big 5 Stand Deck is great.
When FITASC targets are offered, try them.
Good targets and good people equals an enjoyable place to shoot.

A professionally ran club by very nice people. Their rates are reasonable across the board including their Pro Shop. By the way, I’ve been able to find things in their Pro Shop that I haven’t been able to find in either Kansas City or St Louis. I only wish they were closer to home.

Very nice people, and a professionally ran club. Their rates are reasonable across the board including their Pro Shop. When traveling from Kansas City to the lake or to St. Louis I try to include to stop and shoot a few rounds.
