My daughter and I are both novices at clays but the staff was friendly and helpful and the facilities are excellent. Beautiful clubhouse and immaculate rest rooms. Had a great day and would highly recommend.

Not a fan. I have shot a lot of places and this one needs improvement

After a long layoff from trap shooting, Rock Mountain was my first crack at Sporting Clays. Mike, Susan, and Tad are always friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The course is challenging, scenic, and fun to shoot. The presentations change weekly so there is always something new to figure out. The Rock is well worth the drive and always my first choice.

First off the owners were great, course was set up great, very challenging. All the traps worked, nice stands to shoot from.
I’m going back as soon as I get off with my friends to take them there.

I am a newcomer to Sporting Clays but this place is awesome! I went on a Saturday and came back on Sunday I had so much fun. The owners are great and the layout was very cool.
I can’t wait to go back.

Although I really have not shot a lot of sporting clays at many places, this one ranks much higher than the others. The presentations are interesting and sometimes almost amazing. Very friendly owners and clean as a whistle. Very challenging to shoot.

Our trap is not an ATA trapfield, it is a wobble trap that can be shot from the 16 yard line or from the 5-Stand platforms.

On of the premier Sporting Clays courses on the East coast, if you’re any where near the “Rock” it’s a MUST shoot. Mike, Susan & Tad do a great job running the place, they’re out going and friendly people. Make sure you stop and break a few at the “Rock” you will not be disappointed.

This is one Great facility. The family that runs it are the the nicest people you could imagine. Their service was top notch. The course had some of the most interesting presentations I have ever seen [Mike is a great target setter and I can’t wait to shoot a tournament here]. He uses the terrain brilliantly. Make it a point to shoot here and you wont be sorry.

I am a new shooter. I may have had 300 rounds under my belt before visiting Rock Mountain. I asked for their beginner’s lesson deal, but the boss was busy with a family taking lessons. So, I got Tad, the son. He was great. After a few tips from him, I started hitting. Next time I am there, I will ask for Tad. Facility is very nice. Grounds and equipment are well maintained and the family is very friendly. Good luck at college, Tad!

I think that this is one of the best places to go shoot. Always friendly and helpful. Mike makes an effort to come see every shooter and make sure they are enjoying themselves. I would recommend this facility to everyone.

Attended NSCA Level I Instructor Course, June 26-28, 2002. The instructor was Bill Appel. Having visited a majority of the big facilities in Maryland, I would rank the course as outstanding as well as the instructor and staff. Very personable, patient and intuitive. Mr. Appel provided a clear, concise and comprehensive program with ample time devoted to each student. Course presentation was provided as incremental information and psychomotor skill training. The entire staff was approachable, capable and genuinely concerned with student comprehension and demonstrated abilities in each of the required skills areas. Practical application and demonstration was demanding, however, remedial training was available to everyone. A high-class operation set in a scenic, friendly environment. For what it is worth, if I ever get the time, I’m going back.

One of the best sporting clays courses I have shot at. Automatic traps that always work and never run out of targets, friendly staff and owners, great club house, even greater course that is always changing, great price for what you get, hard to find something better; the only complaint I have is it should be closer to my home.
