My 88-year-old father-in-law lives in north Muskegon. He hadn’t shot a shotgun in years and, even then, only on the farm. He expressed an interest in shooting again so on a recent visit I took him to Seaway. A club member volunteered the use of his golf cart and my father-in-law and I headed out to the the sporting clays course where we could shoot alone. He had a great time and we really appreciated the hospitality. The next day, I headed back to Seaway alone to shoot skeet. I squadded with a great group of guys and had a fine time. I shoot three rounds of skeet with the fellas. They were welcoming and the shooting was good. Saw lots of cool guns as a couple of the fellas switched out with each round. Every body focused on hitting clays and shooting good scores but they had fun, too. A little light banter and plenty of encouragement. Just a great morning as a guest at an away-from-home club. Nice facility. Great folks! I’ll be back.

Seaway is a very diverse facility. They have 5 skeet fields, 3 trap fields (with wobble trap on 1), 5 stand with 7 different targets, and a 13 station sporting clays that is 1.1 miles long, all in the woods. The Sporting Clays course in relatively new, being only two years old at present. All machines are new Lincoln, 12 volt units. The Club is open Monday 10am to 10pm, Wednesday 10am to 10pm, Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm. The Club house has been newly renovated on the outside and has a banquet room large enough to host most any groups’ needs. Families are encouraged. The Club hosts registered shoots in Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays. If you want to shoot a challenging Sporting Clays course with state of the art equipment in a beautiful wooded setting, this is the place.
