Great place to shoot! John is a great guy easy going and easy to get along with. He now has 2 Sporting Clay Courses so if you have time shoot them both. While I was their I brought my Rife and Pistol along with my shotgun and spent some time at the pistol and 200 yard rifle range. I figure after a 2 hr drive I should take it all in. In short if your in the area or can get to he area check them out.

New location on Hwy 84, west of Valdosta about 10 past the big bridge. LOOK CLOSELY FOR THE SMALL SIGN ON THE RIGHT. Great place to shoot. Bring your buggy for the clay course. Also, if you want to try different shot guns….he has loaners.

Awesome!! My brother and I just returned from a Quail hunt at Southwinds
new location and I am blown away! I really thought it would be easier
but these little guys can really move! We still ended up with 35 birds
between us thanks to the guide and his dogs.
After lunch we stayed and shot a round of sporting clays. I will be back to Southwinds, now that I have experienced a quality hunt by friendly, experienced, professionals!!

Me and my wife both have shot both skeet, sporting clays and 5 stand at this range and all were great, I plan on going back and taking friends.

Great experience for the novice or advanced shooter! We first visited the course for a fund-raiser and shot the sporting clays course and the five-station. We have since returned to the course just for fun and practice and enjoy it every time we go! The prices are very affordable making the sport of shooting attainable for everyone.

The sporting clays course is wonderfully laid out in the natural woodlands and presented a wide variety of targets and degrees of difficulty. The courses are laid as as “report pairs” and are unmanned requiring that a member of the shooting party serve as “trapper”. The five-station is professionally “trapped” by staff and is a butt buster! Bring your best to this course as it will humble good shooters!

The staff members are laid back but professional and shooter safety is paramount! As a country boy and a retired law enforcement officer I have been around firearms all my life but genuinely appreciated the “safety first” message.

The course allows suitable ATVs and the facility is also equipped with trailerable hunting buggies that allow a comfortable ride for shooters or guests. In fact, the last time we went our 80 year old mother rode on the buggy behind my Jeep and she absolutely loved it. Bring bug spray in the summer months and look out for “critters”. A great experience!!

At Southwind Sporting Clays we offer several different, enjoyable games which you can shoot including a wobble, 5-stand, skeet range, 35ft dove tower, and a challenging 12 station course. We also have a rifle and pistol range. All are open to the public Thurs-Sun year round. Thursdays we are open all day and shoot everything but the course under the lights, Fridays in the afternoon, all day Saturday, and in the afternoon on Sundays. We also offer quail hunts during the season which is from Oct. 1st thru March 31st. We hope you come and visit us and and experience an enjoyable time as we will treat you with good ole’ southern hospitality.
