Number of visits: Once
I was invited by Robert Cameron to join him for some skeet at what is most likely the best kept secret in New England. This range is a full spectrum club offering numerous sportsman’s interests. Well kept and obviously the pride of its members, Rockbridge boasts two totally remodeled regulation skeet ranges built by its membership. The clubhouse that sits right off these ranges is knotty pine and is on the best kept grounds I’ve ever encountered. It’s beautiful. The vista from the clubhouse is breathtaking. Range grass is lush, old growth trees are healthy, and, not one piece of trash or empty hull is seen. Games are 5.00 for visitors. The entire clubs’ grounds were built on a sheer cliff overlooking The Berkshires and the rifle, pistol, and skeet fields are on separate plateaus. Because of it, the downrange area of the skeet field makes you shoot into a cliff. It’s one of the most difficult backgrounds I’ve had to shoot against. Targets literally disappear in the grassy cliff that starts maybe 25 feet downrange from station 8. The membership is friendly, and very community minded. Team concept thrives here and you can see it in the way the club is maintained. If invited back I will most certainly come.
