Was glad to see the change in personnel. The ladies in the shop were friendly and helpful. The sporting clays course was great. Nice targets and machines were flawless. Wish Teneroc would have registered shoots again

Tenoroc is part of a state fish and wildlife preserve, about 35 minutes by car from Orlando. There is not much to see from the front gate, the main office is rather humble looking. In addition to clays, they have other gun ranges, so you will occasionally hear larger calibre gunfire.
The sporting clays course is laid out on a mostly flat arc starting behind the main office. 15 stations were operating the day I visited but they have 2 or 3 additional stands that were not rigged up to traps. As mentioned below, each station has a covered concrete pad with rack, bench and Promatic control pad. If you are shooting solo, you can set a 3 second delay. The course is well maintained and there are a variety of targets to suit various skill levels. Mondays are their slow day according to the front desk staff. On the day I visited, I was the only person on the course besides the maintenance team. The course is walkable either carrying your gear or pushing a buggy.
If you are visiting from out of state, I’d suggest bringing your own gun and buying ammo at a big box store. The ammo selection was limited and the rental gun I was given wasn’t in top form, but that can be an issue at many public courses.
All in all a nice place. Nice setting, friendly staff, interesting targets.

I am a frequent sporting clays shooter here. The staff is awesome! They are always friendly and helpful. If you need info, just ask them. They always make the time to listen. It’s some of the visitors that can be rude or inconsiderate. Also, the staff really works at keeping the course safe. They do ride around in carts to replace clays, make sure people are adhering to good safety practices and answer questions. Don’t hesitate to ask them anything or report ANY questionable behavior.
The course is well-kept and always challenging, but is also beginner-friendly. They change it regularly to keep it interesting. I can be especially challenging after set for a match.
There are a good variety of birds over the course, so you won’t be bored!!!
The facilities are in great shape and everything has been refurbished throughout the facility. Try it, I think you’ll like it!

My wife and I shoot this club when ever we visit Florida. We always liked the club, but were amazed at the improvements since we were last there. Each station has a roofed concrete platform to include gun racks, benches and a nice wide rail to put your score sheet on. I have shot at many top named ranges, but few have the quality of facilities this club has. They also throw a nice mix of birds, to include a wobble trap. It was a shame the day we were there the attendant behind the desk was unsmiling and very brusk, obviously not a shooter, but if you love sporting clays don’t miss this range

I will be back. This was my first experience with a trap sport that wasn’t a buddy pitching or pulling the cord at the range. The clays came from unexpected directions and was a whole lot of fun. Since shooting this I have purchased a 12ga and been skeet and trap shooting within a week. The staff is professional and has plenty of ammo on hand while I was there.

What fun targets! I really enjoyed the target setting by Dale Walker a former US Team shooter. Doable targets but not easy. Just plan fun. Dale used to be at TM and has it going here. They have great support from the state of FL and new clubhouse to be started in months. Lots of improvements at stations and land. Much to come.
Can’t say enough good stuff about this place. Can’t wait to see it with all the improvements complete. Dale knows what he is doing. Thanks for a great day of shooting. Pricing is per target which I really like. No membership. I will be back.

I was very pleased with the course offered on the clay range, sometimes stations were more challenging than others but that is what makes you a better shooter. Twice I have been to Tenorac and Nick, Kimberly and John Michael were always there offering assistance to others if needed. The facility is worth the drive from Ocala. Nice that there is not a membership fee either. Will be going back shortly.

This range is no longer under private contract but is under the direction of FWC. It is still open and the hours remain the same and the ranges are still open. Many of the old staff remain.

The staff at this club was OUTSTANDING. Very helpful, very nice and just a pleasure. Shot 1 round of Sporting Clays and enjoyed it very much. Course was well laid out and they have a ‘Promatic’ system that makes shooting very easy. Course is set up for a nice easy time but I can definitely see where they have the opportunity to change things up when they have a tournament or special shoot to make things more of a challenge. Great place! About 30-35 mins outside of Eastern Orlando. Since I spend a week here every year….I will definitely return! A++

I take my NRA and Concealed Carry classes to this great range to qualify them. Range staff is always great and very helpful. They get me a great spot for my students and a safe place to shoot. I have been doing this for over 40 years and it is great to have a really well managed range, helpful staff, and safe for me and my shooters. The lady that runs this place is “Super”. 5 Stars All the Way.

Awesome place! staff is very friendly (no jerk range masters watching you like a hawk). I took my step-father here last week and we shot over 200 clays. I plan on going here more often. I recommend you get there early as the place gets very busy after 10am. They have a main 10-12 station course which is nice and fairly easy then they have another 5 station course with some pretty hard shots. I recommend doing the easy one first for a warm up.

I shot the Sporting Clays range on 11 JUL 09 with pretty decent results. Again I called and inquired about the shooting hours and ground facilities and was greeted by another warm and inviting staff member who helped me through the wonderful features of Tenoroc Shooting grounds… And again my experience was outstanding. The long gun range and the SC’s range were in darn good shape and administered by excellent and helpful staff members. I will be going back to Tenoroc and encourage others to shoot at a wonderful facility, the staff work very hard at helping novices and pro’s alike. Thanks again and hope to see you soon.

I was going to Orlando on a family holiday and wanted to get some sporting practice in whilst there, I phone the club and the staff were very helpful. When I showed up at the club there was no waiting the staff again were helpful to me and my wife they made sure we were happy before going on the course. The course itself is well laid out with 12 good stands for all abilities and 5 more challenging. All the traps fired first time I had no problems this is a good range package. I would recommend this to all. Thanks to the staff for all their help.

I had not been to Tenoroc for over a year since I moved South. Last weekend (Nov. 9th) I went to sight in my hardball gun for an upcoming match in Jacksonville and took my Sporting Clays gun along as well.
I used the time delay launcher for the course since I was shooting by myself. It worked flawlessly over the 10 stations. Targets were on the medium side and had decent variety. After shooting a hundred targets, I went to the “Quigly Challenge” stands and was, indeed, challenged: longer, faster and more difficult. All in all, an excellent time.
I then went to the Pistol Range, informally divided into three sections: Very close; Close and 50 yard targets for braver competitive shooters. A Rangemaster controls the shooters and insures safe gun handling.
I cannot recommend the Tenoroc Range highly enough… good facilities, wonderful people and a great atmosphere.

While attending a conference in Orlando, I had the opportunity to visit this facility twice. The 5-stand was inoperable due to some lightning damage. The Sporting Clays course had 11 stations, two were not operating (no rabbits). Since the traps are electric and they have a timing relay system, you can shoot a round by yourself. However there were problems with reliable operation of both traps on some of the stations. They do have a nice little store with supplies, ammo, rental guns, guns for sale, etc. If you like shooting at paper targets with rifle or pistol you can use their rifle or pistol range. I enjoyed the chance to shoot and would go back again if I am in the area.

HI,i had the chance to visit Tenoroc shooting range during December 2007.i rang in advance, explained i had no real pistol experience, drove the hour to Tenoroc and met the very friendly staff who were very helpful(bob in particular)who may be the owner.bob hired me a Glock 21,a Glock 17 and a Taurus .38.and 250 rounds of ammo. I had a great experience and found the instructor and Rangemaster very helpful. I plan to visit the very beautiful Florida for holidays December 2008 and I will certainly be planning a few hours to shoot at this wonderful range. Highly recommended.

I was down from Maryland doing some fishing in the Tampa Bay Area when when I decided to take the 1 hr. trip from Tampa to Tenoroc to make it a cast and blast trip. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful as previously noted on other posts. There was a nice variety of “gimme” and extremely challenging target presentations except no rabbits. I asked a staff member and she said that most of the time they do have at least a couple of rabbits just not on the course today. Hope to work Tenoroc into my schedule during future trips to the area it was well worth it.

I really enjoyed visiting Tenoroc. Nice, friendly staff. They really make you feel welcome. During the times I visited Tenoroc, there was always a rangemaster at the rifle range. His name was Bob. Very nice and professional. I really appreciated this. There is a well stocked store, too. As I remember there was a good supply of ammo and targets. It’s been a couple of years since I had the chance to get back to Tenoroc, but I see another visit in the very near future. This is a range worth visiting.

We shot Tenoroc on Monday 11-25-07 and found it to be a very good facility. They have added a lot of stations to their course and it is a nice place to shoot. The presentation of targets was good and did not allow you to get lulled into a comfort zone. The folks there are very helpful and have turned this facility into a really fine place to shoot sporting clays. Well done!

A couple of years ago I was disappointed at Tenoroc. Not so this trip. The course has been updated with nice covered shooting stands and the targets were very good. it was set up for a tournament, so was a bit challenging, however we had a great time. The traps worked with few broken birds, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a fun day and we will be back.

Good shooting ground, would like to see a skeet range if possible. Great to see Steve Midleditch still involved he sets up a good sporting, just like the old days back in the UK.

I first shot the five stand on 18 AUG 07 with pretty good results. I called and inquired about the shooting hours and ground facilities and was greeted by a warm and helpful staff member who guided me through the wonderful features of Tenoroc Shooting grounds… My first experience was very favorable and enjoyable. As a military member my party and I were treated with smiles and kind advice. To top it all off we were given a military discount and more smiles as we left for the day! Tenoroc has earned my business and I will return to a wonderful staff and nice shooting grounds. Thanks and see you soon.
Cheers and warm regards!!!

Visited this with my son on his visit over from the UK. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Shot sporting clays. Good target presentation. All “shootable” but deceptive. Nice clean ground with good cover from the sun. Thanks

I had never been 5 stand shooting before I visited tenoroc. I called first and talked to the owner on the phone, who was very helpful and explained what everything was about. when I visited the club everything was explained to me again and everyone was very helpful. on the first visit some of the traps didn’t work, but on subsequent visits they were fixed, and also moved around to make the ‘course’ a little different. overall, the club was very nice, people were helpful, but ammo was a bit pricey. would definitely recommend and will definitely keep going back

This place is great, not clickish, very friendly, down home country. There aren’t many bells and whistles and is a great place to take a child shooting. If the machines are out of clays, all you have to do is flag down the staff, they are all over the place on golf carts and 4- wheelers, they trip over themselves to accommodate everyone.

Staff is extremly friendly and helpfull. Had a great time shooting the sporting clays course. Also enjoyed the 5 stand. Great facility.

I have used the rifle and pistol range — none of the other activities. Both are very nice, covered and offer a great value for the recreational shooter. The rifle range has always had a range officer — the pistol range is self policing. The staff is very friendly and welcome outsiders with any level of experience.
